We purchased a candle stand worth Rs.3999/- on 21/04/2024. My order number is 52980. It was delivered on 1/5/2024. The candle stand was damaged, and we put in a request for return. I also provided them with the video of opening the product. To the request they replied that they only offer store credit or replacement on return. I highlighted the part in their terms and conditions that states all the criteria for return:
1. Return request was put in within 2 days of delivery
2. Product was a tabletop accent
3. Product was not on sale during purchase
My return request fulfills all these criteria. To this they replied to me highlighting places in their terms and condition that mentions that refund will be made via store credit or replacement. Their terms and conditions are in question answer format and this information has been mentioned under irrelevant questions such as “what if I have received a damaged product” and “how long does it take to process my returns” whereas it has been left out from more relevant questions such as “how I know if my item is eligible for return”. Even in the product specific return policy, this information has been left out. Even the places where this information is mentioned is confusing, it can easily be interpreted as though returns for damaged goods is through store credit or replacement. And mode of return has got nothing to do with duration to process returns. Providing inadequate information and presenting the information in confusing formats where it is difficult for a consumer to find relevant information is categorically unfair practices and intent to deceive the consumer.
I have had to settle for a replacement because they denied a refund. I would like for them to process my return with a cash refund. And change their format for policies from question answer format to points, to make information available for future consumers in a clear manner.
