A Giggles Welfare Organisation — Ngo fraud call about child cancer patient

Address:New Delhi, Delhi, 400094
Website:www.agwo.org

I got a call from [protected] number and a lady claiming to be a student volunteer requested me to help a child cancer patient. Soon after, a man named "abinesh" took over the call and requested again to donate money for a child patient, name "gudiya", suffering from blood cancer. I didn't find anything suspicious until the guy over the phone told me about child patient vomiting blood profusely which, to my knowledge, is quite unusual in 1st stage of blood cancer. Anyway, i shall not judge and continued talking to him. Meanwhile, that guy convinced me to check the website "http://ngo.India.Gov.In" and check his organization registration id "74954 " to assure genuineness. Further, he asked me to click on the link "http://www.agwo.org" provided on "http://ngo.India.Gov.In" website. On their website "http://www.agwo.org", he quickly referred to page "support-a-life" and then to "child patient - gudiya". What bothered me was their immediate query about payment modes, i.E. Card payment or net-banking. Meanwhile, he spoke a great length about ...Poor family background of child patient... Urgent need of money... Total expenditure 2, 50, 000/- ... Some 1, 20, 000/- arranged...Big amount still remaining...Donate as much as possible and finally a god bless you dialogue. I assured him that i will donate the money but he insisted to do payment right away while him being online to assist and generate it exemption certificate. I didn't like idea of it exemption certificate, so i asked him to wait and then i disconnected the phone. I would have donated a fair amount of money had i not googled about this "giggle welfare organization" ngo which were flooded with online complaints on various platform, this being one of them. As soon as i finished reading online complaints, i got call back from same person, "abinesh" asking delay in the payment. How, could he know about delay in payment when i have not given him my personnel details, such as name, email id. I gave him a piece of my mind and disconnected the phone. On further online search, i got similar complaints where patient is some girl-child under age 3 claimed to be suffering from cancer, tumor, and heart disease and so on. On one particular search, i came across a child patient "harpreet" and then i remembered a call three month back when a lady requested to help child patient -harpreet. These fraudsters might be changing the patient details frequently. So we should also raise the alarm every time we witness such activity. Bye.

Just got call from this no. ‭+[protected]‬
Totally fake claiming to be a student volunteer
Also SMS attached sceenshot
BEWARE !!!

Even I had the same call and just disconnected the call. he was telling today is the last day to pay the amount and he is forcing me to pay 5160. he is not giving me a chance to think also.
I got the same call too yesterday and today and when I said I will report them to the police.. They said that he will call me a thousand time. Let's see what I can do!
I got the same call today, but luckily I was not in front of my laptop. I asked her to send me e-mail. I was having doubt about the intentions but at the same time feeling sad for the little gal. Still to clear my doubts I googled it and end up here.
How can someone be so insensitive and money minded that they can use anyones life and make it a joke to earn.
What is our law doing here ???
I got a call for the same patient named gudiya from 3 different people.
Once some OM, than someone Abhinesh, and than a lady .. all forcing me to do payment asap.
And they try to convince and force you so much as if you are having their money in your pocket and you are not willing to return it.
They wanted to convince me by saying daily we don't even know how much money is wasted in our luxury, which is unwanted, but if you will share few amount of money for a nobel cause, you can save her life, etc.
When I refused to pay and said don't call, they recalled me and said atleast pay Rs. 1 and take an initiative to help life.
Paying this amount is not big deal.
And within few seconds I get a SMS asking me to go on their site and pay for gudiya.
And now in text they wanted to pay atleast for 1 kit of chemotherapy that costs them 25725.
They say they had 3 more kit but just one last isd remaining and other 2 got arranged.
Just a pure business to loot people under name of NGO helping poor patients.
Last time when they called (a week back) he told me girl was 2 year old.
Now all of a sudden girl becomes 3 year old.
All they do it don't let you think or use your own conscience.
They told me they wanted to go for chemo @3PM and its already 12PM now, however, the call was itself received @3.48PM.

Also, if you ignore their text and do not get back to them with payment, a new guy posing as senior of the volunteer who called you, calls you up and will say they have received confirmation mail from their junior where you agreed to pay for the child.
And even he will force you to pay. Saying pay as much as you can.
If not much atleast one rupee, etc.
A lot of crap, just to force and confuse you so much that you will end up paying.

They pose that the treatment is being done in AIIMS hospital Gurgaon for uhid[protected].
But, when I called up to the hospital to enquire about patient, they had to say, patient gets admitted to hospital every alternate days for day care procedures.
yeah i also got that call. The boy kept on speaking for around 20 mins. I finally had to disconnect the phone. He was not ready to stop. Generally these people talk in english. You can guess the reason why. But man i really wanted to help. I got serious. Thanks to you guys.
lesson learnt: If you really wanna help donate to some legitimate ngos. Never ever respond to anyone who personally asks you for money. And definitely these people should be punished. This is height. Because of these kind of people its hard to trust anyone. Give their number to police. they will take care of them.
I just got a call from them, so I googled for "agwo" before I donate some of my hard earned money and end up here. It's so sad to see people stoop so low and say/do anything to loot others.
I also got a call today with similar story from +91-[protected] and +91-[protected] (Ritika). Please check if you also got calls from these numbers. Told me that it's urgent as operation needs to be done before 6 PM.
I got the same call for patient gudiya from [protected]. today just 5 minutes ago. i knew from here. it before any transaction.
I too got a call. I told him that my organisation will go to the hospital and meet the family directly and support them directly. He told me that the only way to help them was through their website. Real amazing guy! Contact number : [protected] and [protected]
Just got call from them too. First it was a lady, then phone was handed to a man. Once phone disconnected, he called again from other number. He said about a patient 7 month old baby girl named baby gudiya submitted in AIIMS Delhi. 2 lacs+ were still needed for operation and it is last date for that. And payment has to be done only via their website. I said my relatives are in Delhi and can come personally to see the baby and offer help. But they refused as they said matter is with their NGO and only way to help was through their website. After long talks blablabla I had to disconnect the phone. Their numbers : [protected] and [protected].

fraud

FRAUD ORGANIZATION
Today I got a call from [protected] number and a guy requested me to help a child cancer patient name 'Gudia'.
He told that a girl child is suffering from cancer, and she needs an urgent treatment which will start today. He said that they had collected some money but still short of a big amount so I should donate money asap.
He convinced me to check the website "http://ngo.india.gov.in" and see that their NGO is listed there with the name "A GIGGLES WELFARE ORGANISATION".
While talking to him, I searched on google about "giggle welfare organization" and got a lot of online complaints. I gave a quick look on the complaints while he was still trying to convince me on phone with some emotional takings.
I interrupted him and said that I was not interested in donating as I did find something fishy in this. He again told me that they are from government and started giving me emotional speeches.
When I asked him from where he did get my number, he told first I should donate some amount, he'll tell me then. I told him to disconnect the phone as he would not get success here with me. He told me that I am rude and emotionless, blah, blah, blah, I disconnected. And now, I am here, wirting all this. :)
Be alarmed people.
Hi even I'm getting a call for a girl Durgi.. admitted in aiims suffering from brain tumour.thanx guys fr the comments...I made my mind to donate bt nw knw d truth .. Same giggle welfare..
I too got a call from A Giggles Welfare Organization today (http://www.agwo.org/). Similar story. First a girl speaks and takes me to the website, then a man takes over and talk about vomiting blood and mother committing suicide, etc etc.

I got a call from this number : [protected]

Is any action even taken against such websites? Is anyone hearing ?
I received a call from a woman, regarding a patient named Shreya, aged 8. I went to the website, and checked the details. All the details seemed legitimate. I saw the letter from the hospital and the medical reports. I have previously donated some money for a girl named Gudiya, and i go the payment receipt, a letter from them and also a certificate of exemption from income tax. However today as I searched for www.agwo.org on google, fraud came up on the search bar. So I checked out a few articles. And everyone's comments have been really negative. I am sceptical about making a donation right now. It gives me great pleasure to make any donation that I can, but if this is a fraudulent activity, then its not worth it. I would rather donate money to a recognised NGO. PLEASE COMMENT ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE, IN THE INTEREST OF FELLOW DONERS. THANKS.

amitrjp's reply, Aug 29, 2017
inquire the hospital directly about the case, and donate to the hospital directly if you genuinely want to help
I got a call for a guy named Rahul Dewgan suffering from third degree burn and then the same plot follows.

Why can't AIIMS or police take some action against these fraudsters?
I just got a call from a number [protected] saying some case named Kushi : Urgent help for Baby Khusi CR# B51630 unit no.4 - Treatment time: 4PM. I do not know how these people are finding the numbers. I had listened and saw all their site details. Not sure the case is correct/wrong. But they are keep on sending some sensitive convinicing text. I'm about to do the payment, but checked in this forum and now suspecting about this NGO.
