Aircel — Unwarranted activation of VAS and deduction from balance

Me and my relatives are using Aircel Pre-paid mobile service bearing following Mobile Nos. [protected], [protected], [protected] & [protected]. Every now and then the Company activates various value added services like dialer tune etc without the consent of the user and charges are deducted from the pre-paid balance. I have complained several times to the Customer Care cell and every time they assured deactivation but after somedays they again activate some other service without asking for consent of the users. This is causing financial loss to us. Only today I deactivated two such services at my No. [protected]. By activating such services unilaterally they brought my pre-paid balance to Rs.0.00 which was detected only when I tried to call some one. Kindly take action against the Company to restrain it from playing such tricks with the customers of pre-paid service.

This is to inform you that Rs 75 (45 + 30) was deducted on 6/29/2015 for MWRKLFBAL and CRBT services, consent id present. We would also like to inform you that charging has been done after getting confirmation and as per request service has been deactivated on 7/2/2015. However, we have already processed for the refund of the deducted amount on Good will Gesture and the same will be credited to your mobile account within 48 hrs. Please ignore those website or web link which are chargeable, to stop this type of charging.

Moreover, no value added services found activate against your other numbers [protected], [protected] and [protected], hence deactivation does not required.

Yes, Aircel has shown a good gesture by refunding the money and my association with Aircel for more than 8 years. But the most unfortunate part is that such Value Added Services(VAS) are activated unilaterally by Aircel and without consent from the user. I am also using other mobile services like BSNL, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone. But no other service provider activates VAS without consent as Aircel does. I am giving a most recent example: my spouse has got an Aircel prepaid No. [protected]. But we use it mainly for surfing internet via mobile and this no. is also not known to our friends and relatives as she uses a BSNL No. for voice calls. We had practically discontinued using this Aircel no. because whenever there is sufficient balance in that pre-paid account Aircel would activate various VAS and deduct the amount. For long we stopped recharging this no. Recently, we recharged it with Rs.120/-. Whenever there are voice calls o[censored]nknown nos. coming to this SIM we do not respond at all. And use it for surfing net. Today I saw an SMS from Aircel intimating that Dialer Tune has been activated to this no. from 14.07.15 for one month and Rs. 30/- deducted from balance and that it will be renewed after one month. Since we do not use the SIM for phone or SMS how did Aircel got our consent to activate the Dialer Tune?

I have already lodged complaint with the Aircel Customer Care. But my point is that, Aircel should immediately stop such practice of activating VAS and deducting money and then passing the buck on the user. Aircel should stop robbing the subscribers by activating such services without specific consent via SMS.
