[Resolved]  Airtel — 4G mobile data

My number is [protected] (Home network-Kerala). I was using the connection for quite a long time and I am one among the most patient customers of Airtel.

This is the first complaint that I am registering against (anyone/ thing), so bear with me if I am writing in an informal language.

I am using a 4G data plan for quite sometime and the usage limit as per my plan was over before Nov 12, 2016. I purchased some "Smartbytes" while my monthly data was over and still was not able to get the 4G connection. I called the customer care on Nov 12th, 2016 and as per the communication with the customer care personnel, I understood that this so happened as I had utilized all my monthly datapacks and the 4G was shifted to 2G automatically. I specifically mentioned that I will be out of India till Nov 17 th, 2016 and requested to resolve that.

Once I am back to India, the issue was still on. But I waited till 22nd Nov, 2016 (I was patient enough not to call up again as my bill cycle is starting from 21st of every month and expected that I will be through with my 4G datapacks)
Nothing has happened till 25th of Nov, 2016 and I made a call again (around 8:30 PM - 9 PM IST)to the customer care and reported the 4G issue (made the call from Chennai - Near to Sathyabama University and on the way to Velachery). I told him about the issue that was open on Nov 12th, 2016 and was shocked to hear that the issue was given a "closed" status because I was not available when the airtel personnel called. I haven't received any information via sms too. The customercare personnel on 25th Nov, 2016 also promised me that the issue will be resolved with in 20 hrs time and I was relieved with that. I am just copying the message that I received:

"Reference no. 72644661 for your airtel mobile has been registered on 25-NOV-2016 20:22. The same will be closed in 20 hours. For status update, SMS SR (ref. no.) to 121"

I returned to Kerala on 26th Nov, 2016 and checked the status again at 3:40 PM and the message showed as below:

"Reference no: 72644661
Date- 25-Nov-16
Status- Open
Now manage all your airtel services at one place with myairtel app. To download, click www.airtel.in/myairtel"

I then called the customercare for status updation on the issue and I was told that the team was working on it and will be resolved within 4:30 PM-5 PM. I waited again.

Once again, I checked the status at 8 PM and got the same message as mentioned above. I called the customercare again and enquired the status. The customer care personnel told me that the team was still working on it and promised me that I will be getting a call by tomorrow (27/11/2016) afternoon and will be resolved.

Today (27/11/2016) at 10:10 AM, when I am at Kozhikode city (Kerala state), I checked the status again and no change in the above status were observed. So I called the customercare personnel and explained all the issues once again and the call was transferred to senior level. The response of that person was terrible. He told that he cannot solve it immediately and will take another 24 hrs to resolve it, whether I continue with the same Service provider or not.

I wonder what these people were doing from the 1st day that I had registered the complaint.

I have been patient all the time waited for a longer period (Nov 17th - 27th) and no way in a position to pay bills for the services that I haven't received from them in this period of bill cycle and I would seek your help for porting this number to some other network which offers some excellent 4G connectivity with less overheads to customers and swift response in solving the problems(if any).

NOTHING HAS BEEN MENTIONED REGARDING THE PAYMENT FOR THE SERVICES I WAS NOT USING. ALSO, NO MATTERS WERE ADDRESSED REGARDING PORTING OF THE CONNECTION
