Airtel — Airtel number has been deleted

Mobile no. [protected]. I was using this number from last 5-6 years Firstly it was postpaid then I converted this in prepaid. Due to medical profession i shifted to dehradun and stopped using the number because of high roaming charges . I had recharged this number 2 months ago. Now i came to know that this number has been deleted from airtel. When I spoke to customer care and asked for help, their representive said that they cannot help and started giving example of medical profession in this matter. As it is a 000 number the company will sell this number at higher price later on. Kindly help me in this matter
