Airtel — Inaccurate Charge on Monthly Bill

I recently decided to shift from a 2G data plan to a 3G plan and was extremely satisfied with the rate & service. I specifically checked the "My Services" section on the online account to ensure that the 2G plan was discontinued however when i got the monthly bill, I was charged Rs.199/- for 2G (full month) and Rs.500/- for 3G (2 GB usage). When I called customer care (Case Ref#[protected] they told me that my bill generation is from 7th of every month and since i switched from 2G to 3G on the 9th, I would be charged the whole Rs.199/- for 2G service. I'm a logical thinking man and that doesn't sound right to me. I'd be more than glad to pay on a prorata basis but this is plain extortion. Further information available on request.

Am i to expect a call back and hopefully resolution anytime soon?

I'd be glad to switch providers if this is how well Airtel values it's 1 billion+ customers.
