[Resolved] Airtel — My active airtel mob num is re-issued to someone else.Incredibly ridiculous. | |||||
I had the shock of my life yesterday when my mob number[protected] that I have been using over 5+ years was re-issued to someone else. When I contacted local Airtel branch, they were simply incompetent and unhelpful. I finally managed to get in touch with 198 to register my complaint. The reason Airtel Customer Rep gave was that it was not recharged for more than 90 days. That is completely Bogus. This is my primary active mobile number and I had recharged it myself only 1 week ago with a local Airtel retail shop. Airtel just cannot take my Active mobile number and reissue it to anyone else. This is not what I expect from the Indian Telecom leader. I want Airtel to take this seriously, urgently and re-issue my number back to me with an apology. If I am forced, I will not hesitate to lodge a serious complaint with TRAI and other regulatory groups. Completely unacceptable! Jan 10, 2016 Complaint marked as Resolved Airtel called back to say that they had received a lost-sim complaint from a similar number ending with 2310 instead of 3210. They added that it was a mistake from their end to disconnect my number. Though I do NOT buy this story, my number thankfully has been reactivated. So problem solved for me. Airtel customer support has been notified about the posted complaint. | |||||
