[Resolved] Airtel — Wrongly charged for data | |||
whenever I am using WiFi connection getting pop up stating data is been used and Data is deducted for data balance. I am thinking to lodge a FIR against Airtel Telecom for fraud. I reported and mailed to [protected]@in.airtel.com to ask why data is charged.This reply i got from their end: Dear Customer, Greetings from airtel! This is in reference to your email regarding data usage for your airtel mobile number . As discussed on "number", your concern regarding data usage has been explained. We would like to inform you that most handsets automatically switch to mobile internet, in case weak or temporary Wi-Fi connectivity issues are experienced. This may happen especially when mobile internet option is enabled under handset settings in the device. Data usage will be charged only when your handset connects to mobile internet, instead of Wi-Fi. If you wish to use data services on Wi-Fi alone, please turn off mobile internet in your device. However We recommend you to turn off mobile internet option in your handset while connecting to Wi-Fi. Dial *129*08# (Toll free) to check your main account balance and validity. Same pop up were also coming on another handset.I again mail them to report similar popup are coming on another handset. This reply I got : Dear Customer, Greetings from airtel! The service will be stopped within 04 hours. or alternatively, you can TURN OFF the mobile data from your handset. Please, dial *129*08# (Toll free) to check your main account balance and validity. … Best Regards, Sivakrishna Sekhar Service Specialist airtel I asked what will happen they told data pack will be if my data is disconnected then data will be charged from main balance if no data plans are activated. Yesterday I mailed them that my data is not working and asked for refund the amount charged for the data pack as i was not able to connect and data for charged for no usage. They replied we can not refund money as there is no provision from there end. When there is time for deducting money/ charging money to their customers they can charged from any end as they have that provision but when customer is not satisfied and is charged for no reasons then there is no provision of refunding their money.
