[Resolved]  AMCS Internet — Warning do not have anything to do with this company!!!

We signed up to go with AMCS in May 2013 after getting promised an all singing and dancing fantastic Website. First we were told it would be completed within the week, after signing up and paying we received the pack which stated 6 weeks to complete! After completion of the site we received no enquiries through it, in October we received a phone call from their sales department offering search engine search engine optimization, this was to include mobile phone website optimization and were told we would be found on any google search within a 25 mile radius (unfortunately we don't know much about websites or search engines, which they took advantage of). They confirmed they would search for key words for our business, update the website and keep checking this every 6 weeks to ensure this was working for our site. They promised to update the website and contact us when this had been done, then keep in touch to let us know how this was working. All this would be completed within the week. We paid for this - BIG MISTAKE, they took the money and we never heard any thing for 8 weeks, we did phone several times but no one phoned us back. Customer service is atrocious. When we did eventually get to speak to someone, they said the work had all been completed, when we questioned the mobile side of this they said this was another £120 even though we were told this was included. Then they had the cheek to say our bill was still outstanding and only half paid! Even though it was paid in full. This company take your money and give you nothing in return. Do not fall for the patter of their sales people, they are very good at promising the earth but delivering nothing!!!

AMCS Internet Customer Care's response
Hi Jo, If you'd like to contact us, we'll attempt to remedy any complaints you have. We'll try to remedy some of your general comments here, as I'm unsure of your business name from your comment. Within the week of signup for a Domain Name & Hosting package, your holding page will be live - This isn't your design, just a placeholder where your site will appear. Beyond this, we normally estimate 21 working days from completion of your artpack upto the first proof of the website being complete. We do call existing customers to ensure everything in their site is working for them - If you had a concern that you weren't recieving business, we'd aim to resolve that, in this case by adding Search Engine Optimisation. This optimisation does work on both desktops, and mobile versions of websites. We generally take an area from you to target, in your case you'd given an area of a 25 mile radius, so we'd aim to target large population areas within that. We do search for keywords for your business, as well as consistently updating the optimisation (In fact, 4 weeks, rather than 6 weeks). Once optimisation is complete, we estimate 6-8 weeks to index you fully, and start seeing results back. I'm unsure of what happened with any outstanding amount as I don't have your account details, but we do offer a pay half now, half later to customers on certain products - Whether that was the case here, or a miscommunication I don't know, but I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. If you call us on[protected] or email us at [protected]@amcsinternet.co.uk, we'll certainly try to solve any problems.

Crap crap crap is what they talk and crap is what they deliver.they tried to take £700 in two days from me but was stopped at the bank.they promise the earth to get your money and you do not appear anywhere in google ranking.then a year later they will automatically try to take another year unless you cancel in writing.i am reporting them to trading standards and the daily mirror and watchdog.i encourage everyone to do the same.drive them out of business!!
Yet another poor fool here too fell for the con paid 717.60 for a total bag of . Promised it would be indexed on google as they were one of the few companies that were allowed to index directly what total and utter trash well my case is ready for trading standards to go through
It seems to good to be true, I had similiar bulls**t sales pitch about an all singing all dancing website, Im quite good at spotting a sales pitch scam and those that think they can get you on first page of google, anyway after the initial talk of a reduced from £249 to £99 bronze website, I went for it, but before I did, I did ask is their any hidden or additional fee's, I was told no unless I signed up for the more expensive ones, anyway cut a long storey short, after a few weeks of signing up, here comes the bomb shell, Jo one of the web designer team informs me do I want seo, which was discussed in the initial sales pitch, so I says yes its with the package... Oh no its not it an additional £499, so now this has got my back up, after a quick rant, I put the phone down, so today, I got some scottish manager who again tries the seo sales pitch, so told him what I thought, then he say so you want a portfolio web site, yes I says, then if you want access or back office then its an additional £199... Im now £99 out of pocket for registering a domain name, with a website that hasnt been even started, these guys need to be reported got mis selling, please be advised and warned about these guys.. Regards Gary
Absolute exactly what everyone else says on here. No delivery just promotion angles and assurances. Paid in december its august and still not done bye bye AMCS. Also if you check out any other review sites, theyre either 1 star or 5 star...theyre putting their own reviews on these sites . The 1 star reviews are the genuine reviews
Same thing happened to me.
Bunch of crookso_O
I nearly got caught by them too, but they hung the phone up on me when i refused to pay anything until I had checked them out. Wasted about half an hour of my time, but hopefully that is it.
Their Liverpool accents & "we're in your area today" & a one day only offer of £99 instead of £300 made me suspicious & I thankfully found this site, which confirmed it.
They need catching & locking up. If they put as much effort into actually honestly working as they do in trying to scam people, they could actually make an honest living.
Sorry to see the other posters get caught, but hopefully the more posts there are, the more chance someone else wont get caught out.
still waiting for them to call me back after 2 days, have taken £700 from my account so far, something needs to be done about this company as soon as possible
Exactly the same to me.I've called trading standards twice about them and I will be again now I've seen this.
Please everybody call trading standards and put the bxxxards down.
I have had the same as all the others on here. Crap crap and more crap. Avoid like the plague.
Got the fraud department of my bank trying to get a refund. Won't hold my breath.
Big con and I am kicking myself for falling for it.
They must have registered the domain name but when you open the page it just says under construction.
Conned me too £118.00 do not know how they can turn up for work everyday,
Promised me everything, then came the pitch for a further £700, That is when I realised it was a scam contacted my bank right away to block any further payments.
I have tried emaiing them a few times no reply, the so called art pack was unusable and have nothing to show for my money.
Have made my bank aware of this company and hoping to reclaim my loss via my credit card payment and will also report them to trading standards.
Out and out thieves and scum.
I have a small family Decorating business and as all posts above had the same crap spouted to me by the Scottish guy he rattles on for 20 minutes or more slagging off Google ads, and how he can optimise your website and put it on the first page of Google. Unless you are savvy in search engine optimisation then they know they can hook you. I paid £118.00 for a bronze standard website, at the point of confirming sale asked of hidden costs, and was told there was none. A week later on the day the art pack arrived, I received a telephone call from the Scottish guy on the subject of search engines and optimisation, knowing the bottom line he was go to ask for more money, I did not ask for this service, his attitude was abhorrent to say the least. When I told him about trading standards his reply was that he had been investigated and was squeaky clean. I mentioned the comments on this site and his response was the same it was our competitors bad mouthing obviously everything is scripted. I should have known better which successful company cold calls for business, it's like me going through the phone book looking for potential customers. I shall be taking advice from trading standards, my bank has already been informed.
A friend of mine was caught out and asked me to do a little investigation on his behalf firstly the domain they registered for him was actually registered to "AMCS internet" this makes it very difficult to retrieve it from them so technically they own his domain not him. I then did an IP lookup and found 400+ domains on the same IP address try for yourselves here
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web-sites-on-web-server/ and enter this IP in the form 91.109.10.241 look up any of the .uk domains at
http://www.nominet.org.uk/uk-domain-names/about-domainnames/domain-lookup-whois/... and see for yourself.
I work for an SEO company and there is no £299.00 "guarantee top of google silver bullet" there are only ten spots on page one of google for any search, and the more popular the phrase the harder you have to work to get it there and keep it there.
My advice is that if you are going to get a web design company to register your domain make sure that you are the registrant all .co.uk can be checked at nominet.org and .coms .nets at any whois search on the web.
DO NOT part with anymore money until you are sure it belongs to you.
But the best way is for you to register your own domain at say ukreg.com or 123-reg.co.uk and you can then point that at the web design company's hosting server this dead easy as here http://www.ukreg.com/transfer-domains/other-domains/ then YOU are in control NOT THEM.
Same as everyone else on here and other sites .Although I did get an average site, it was nothing like I was shown that I would be getting, and it took a month longer than they said it would, The attitude of everyone in the company that I spoke to was the same, very poor customer service and money orientated. promises made and not carried out. something that no one else has mentioned is that I was told that my domain name would be bought for me ect... but they don't register it in your name, oh no, its in theirs! and when you try to get it transferred, they want another £99 + vat!! they probably are not doing anything illegal, but you have to question there ethics. Lesson learnt the hard way. My advice, go elsewhere and avoid at all costs because the actual cost is much more in the end. I asked to speak to a director, or even the name of one, no chance! I don't run my business like that and will, in future, be more carefull with whom I use for my website.
Another sucker, when will I learn. Text received on 24th September tells me my artpack/invoice will be sent in the next 24 hours. No surprises then I have received nothing and they don't answer the phones.
As above same as messed about, promises no delivery
I wish I read this two weeks ago, I have had a identical experience from exact same characters. Cold call promising the earth for the bronze package for £99 + vat with no hidden extras!
A week after paying over the phone stupidly without any research into them I had a web designer Jo on the phone thinking she wanted to discuss the website but no she just went on about if I paid £499 I could it would be the best thing ever. After several attempts when I said I did not want this package she hung up on me!
Following Monday had a Scottish guy I think by the name of Scott funnily enough and all he wanted to talk about was how he wanted to save me money and all it would cost would be £499...what a great guy must invite him around for dinner!! Anyway at this point I lost the rag slightly and said I did not want them to continue so don't worry about it to which he replied I'm not worried mate believe me which does not give you the greatest confidence in someone!
Today I got through to a receptionist named Sarah and raised my complaints and she had a answer for everything so must be well drilled and became very argumentative and tried claiming I was being. When I said on the initial phone call I was not advised on the extra charges she said that they were not allowed to mention it as they were not allowed by law to as it would advertise google as if google need advertising. She said all sales call are recorded so if I wanted to listen to it but she had already covered that angle by also saying I should read their website. When I said about the way the web designers had spoken to me and maybe she should listen to that phone call she said it was only the sales calls recorded to which I replied the whole phone call was about trying to sell me more packages but apparently them being such nice people they were just advising me!
Since this call I have been on the website and the terms and conditions are all about covering themselves legally for any dispute.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE no one use these guys they are just crooks. I am now taking legal advice and hopefully all people on here will and we can get them on such things as Watchdog...
Regards
Chris
I just signed up this evening and wish I had researched first. I want out - does anyone know if my bank can cancel the payment if I call them in the morning, I paid visa debit.
