American Express India — Receiving monthly bill statements despite closure of credit card | |||||
I was offered a Makemytrip credit card. When I was applying, the sales guy kept calling up for documents. Even when I was travelling I sent all documents for my card and I requested an add-on card for a family member. Documents of my family member were also provided instantly.Within a week or so I received my card but despite repeated follow ups for more than a month I did not receive the add-on card.The customer care team speaks politely but does nothing. They assure you of everything but actually nothing is done. After a month, I was asked to resend my family members documents and make a fresh request for an add on card. I was frustrated and requested closure. According to the policy, if I closed the card within 60 days(without using), I would not be charged any amount. How incorrect to think that! I have been receiving monthly bills of annual fee, interest due to non-payment and service tax. This is the fourth consecutive month I have received a statement. The card admits my card is closed but I still have numerous charges!There seems to be a huge error in their system and calculations. I am tired of calling the customer care and requesting to stop sending bills. Due to the confidential nature of my personal information, I cannot provide the details of the card.
