I hired this auto for the above mentioned trip. I got into the auto after winning the usual “interview” by the auto driver. I noticed that the driver is not running the meter. I pointed out this, and then he said the rate is Rs.30. I replied I cannot give that because it is only 1.3km ride. I asked him to stop. But he didn’t stop and told that he will take only Rs.25.
But after passing the hotel New Shanthi Sagar @ Domlur (Near the Domlur Bus stand), the driver asked me to get down. I told this is not the place where I want to go. He proceeded for another 200 meters and told me that this is the maximum he can come. But I didn’t get down. I asked him to drop me the place where I want to go in Domlur Layout. He proceeded another 100meters. He stopped the auto and forced me to get down. This time I failed and I had to get down before reaching my destination.
I paid him Rs.26 (for hardly 1 Km distance). After getting down I took the photo of his number plate. Unfortunately, the driver saw that and he came to me and threatened to delete the photo. I was helpless that time and had to delete the picture. But I captured the number in my mind.
I also noticed that the driver has not kept any license details in his auto. So I don’t know his name and driving license number. It’s a new green auto. Reg No: is KA-01 AA 8580
I request the authorities to keep an eye on these kinds of auto drivers since they are threats to the passengers and in turn to the society.
