Bharat Petroleum — Cheating at Mauli Petrol Pump, Baner Pune, Maharashrta

Address:Pune, Maharashtra

Date 16/08/2015 I with my wife went to Mauli Petrol pump (Baner) Pune, while returning from a relative as my Honda City car fuel indicator started blinking yellow (Reserve). Around 7.40 pm today ( 16/08/2015 ) .. When my turn came I requested for refueling my car with Petrol amounting Rs 2000/-. My wife was sitting in car, whereas I got down to see the petrol rate. There were two attendants on that dispenser point. The attendant was filling fuel, mid-way another attendant gave me a note book and told me to write my name, car no and telephone no. When asked he said that the company wants to register database and in future whenever I fuel at any of BP pump, I will get SMS on my mobile phone. In fact this was done purposely to distract my attention. Once the fueling was completed, I gave him my Credit card, on which he charged Rs 2000/- The slip Transaction ID 48022037, time 19.47.16. I left the petrol pump, after going for half an hour noticed that even after filling Rs 2000 /- petrol (29.06 Lits) my fuel indicator display was showing little above the mid mark. My regular practice is whenever I fuel for Rs 2000/-, the fuel indicator shows little less than the Full indicator. I told my wife that there is something wrong, they have cheated us. I turned back car and went back to Mauli Petrol pump, Baner again and waited in queue on the same filling dispenser. Both of the attendants were stunned to see me back. When I started asking for Manager, one attendant said, what is the matter, when I told him that I they have filled less fuel than the charge slip, he immediately agreed that yes, he has filled fuel worth 1500 Rs and agreed to refill balance fuel for 500/-. When I asked for complaint book, he even agreed to fill my car tank to full. I parked my car at the dispenser and went to the manager's office and asked for complaint book. In that office two youths aging 23-24 years were having an argument that they too were cheated by another attendant. Instead of filling fuel worth Rs 300. They had fueled in steps and cheated those customers. Poor fellows were from north Indians as they were speaking in Hindi, Being a local from Pune and Marathi, I shouted at the person claiming to be the manager. He too agreed that it is a mistake and advised to the attendant to fill my car tank full. Meantime the attendant who had cheated me disappeared and was not available. The manager came with me and instructed to the attendant to fuel my car, to which I and my wife informed that we want the petrol pump owner's Tel no and complaint book. I was not given complaint book or the Tel no of the owner. In this process I was at the petrol pump for almost half an hour. I even threatened that I will lodge a police complaint. At around 20.20 pm, the manager and attendant filled petrol worth Rs 500/- I observed the fuel indicator, it was showing about the similar level on indicator, whereas since yesterday the fuel prices are reduced by Rs 1.43/Liter. In spite of the manager willingly ready to full the tank by 5 liters petrol, both me and my wife refused and told them that we will lodge compliant in consumer court and police station. I am having the charge slip for Rs 2000 and two separate bills one manual bill for Rs 1500/- ( Issued by the manager after insisting around 8.20 pm. He said he cannot retrieve my old transaction from computer and made a manual bill. For the top up amount of Rs 500, they have issued computerized bill. After reaching home I saw the petrol pump's review on Wikimedia, copy attached, where several customers have written about the cheating and bad experiences. I am requesting BP Company to take stringent action against the pump. I feel they have tampered with the dispenser and cheating customers thereby stealing customer's hard earned money.

All attendants of Mauli Petrol pump (Baner) Pune have master degree in cheating. They cheated me continuous three times and they used different tricks each time.
These trick are(for two wheeler)
1. What ever amount you say they will fill 50rs and they will try to pretend that there is some confusion.
2. Other attendant will try confuse you and in between they will reset the meter.
3. and last they cheat during rounding off the amount.
Now i never take fuel in this petrol pump

Had the same experience today. I cant believe they have been doing this for 6 yrs without facing any repercussions. Is there any point in writing these complaints on this forum?
Yesterday i fill Petrol at Bharat Petroleum Baner Pune, I asked to fill 1000 petrol in my car. The worker first filled 300 Rs Petrol then 400 Rs and said done, then i argued with him and then he filled another 300 rs petrol. Please improve service teach employees.
From Now i will never go any bharat petroleum
I had same experience as RajeevK. This petrol pump is a big fraud and has a very bad reputation. Pls avoid and log complaint on Bharat Petroleum website or Ministry of Petroleum or even PMO. Dont let these guys go free. This seems to be a big fraud for many years now.
Guys, I got cheated today at Mauli petrol pump at Baner. I asked for a full tank and the attendant after filling 300 rs petrol said "sir ho gaya". I said I asked for full tank. He said "sir sorry" and started filling again. After that he filled for 1700 rs. He took 2000 rs from me. I later realised that he has not reset the meter. Bad day for me and 300 extra tip for the petrol pump attendant. Cheaters.
I am the dealer of Mauli Petrol Pump at Baner road, Pune. I am trying to stop all the complaints and to ensure full quality and quantity is given at the pump. Please always take printed bill from my petrol pump. Out of 7 machines here, 5 are having compulsory printed bill facility. Please contact me on this number in case of any issue. [protected].

Thank you.
I visited Mauli Petrol pump this morning and requested petrol for Rs 1000/- . The attendant filled petrol for Rs 200/- and stopped. On questioning him he said he heard only 200/- despite the fact I was very loud and clear about my request. He also repeated "ok rs 1000/-" after I asked him for the same. Still he filled only 200/- rs worth petrol. After that he filled further 800/- but I am not sure I have got the complete amount of petrol. The important thing is that this has happened at least four times before! I avoid this petrol pump but occasionally have to go there as it's the only major petrol pump on Baner road. This is being exploited by the petrol pump to the maximum. The attendants are rude, very lazy and very disorganized. Also many people keep pestering you for various things so that you are distracted. I am often alone in car and this harassment is getting too much! The owner should discipline his employees. So many petrol pumps have polite employees. But these attendants always catch you when you are in a hurry do some disgusting mischief.
I am commenting again because I called the owner of Mauli petrol pump and he was very prompt in attending to my complaint. His number is available on the internet, the comment above my complaint and he is very polite and approachable. He took strict action against the attendant. (My intention was not to get anyone fired.) I would encourage anyone who has complaints to call the number and state the problem in a calm manner. You will surely be helped.
I too Had similar experience few years back. I had paid amount when filled comes to half mark indication. When I drove off a liitle, petrol indicator was showing 1/4th full then I turned back my car and again asked to fill full tank. Luckily I had bill of 20 litres, now after return he could fill more than 25 litres to make the tank full. This is where I caught the attendant. As my car which was Wagon r has a capacity of 35 litres and how come he could fill 45 litres when I already have few liters in the tank.
All the attendants became alert and 1 senior of them came and paid back the money.
I ask in the forum why should we call the owners every time we face problems? Cant the management of the pump handle this problem.

From that time I have hardly visited this station, only in emergency 1 or 2 times, even though this is the closet and the most convenient station to fill the fuel.

The best station is HP petrol station near the police ground opp to agriculture college.

Thanks

Got cheated today at Mauli Petrol Pump. i Asked for petrol for Rs.260. The attendant first filled up to 60 and stopped. When i told him its 260 and not 60, he said sorry and meanwhile another guy come from nowhere and started asking the payment mode. During this, the attendant started filling again and stopped at 200/-. When i asked him to fill up to 260, he said that he resets the meter to 0 again before filling. But my fuel indicator was showing less than expected. I told him about that but they were 4-5 attendants there and they started defending themselves. No use of arguing to those fraud people. However, from my end i registered a complaint in HPCL.
At BP Mauli Petrol Pump, Baner, Pune, the attendant played a trick of listening wrong amount and filled firstly for 100 rs(though i said Rs500) and then he pretended to reset the meter to 0 but he didn't. He continued with 100 unit and filled till 400. Loss of 100.
This is second time they have done this.
Please suspend their licence. Whole management is cheater.
