[Resolved]  BookMyBai — Fraud service, poor quality maids and no experience to run the business

I had heard plenty about Bookmybai in the media, and thought "wow, what a great solution for single people".
- I visited the website, put in my preferences
- The website "teased" me with hundreds of maids that matched my preferences; to proceed, it asked for a deposit of INR 1000 (refundable)
- I thought ok, if i'm going to get a maid from this website anyway, what difference
- I received a call from a 'Sameera' to double check my preferences, saying she would get back to me - it has now been over 2 months and total radio silence
- This company/website is a scam - they depend on people to give them deposits and forget about it. This is how they run their business and this is straight up FRAUD.
- I found a maid within one week through the network of drivers/maids in the building. Your service is redundant, your business model is terrible, and you are going to destroy whatever reputation you have all on your own. Absolutely pathetic and no one should even visit their website.

Bookmybai is another shady services and fraud who do not refund money as promised. Also they try to push the maid services charges in Market. Bookmybai provides caps minimum Rs. 14000/- PM. for a 24 hours maid which are available in our locality for Rs.[protected]/-, When I initially started there portal with my requirements they showed 86 maid available fitting my requirement. I quoted 10000/- for a 24 hours maid. To shortlist the maid, I was told to pay refundable Rs.1000/-, later their representative called and asked for minimum maid services @ 14000/- pm. when I disagreed they confirmed my refund within 2-3 working days which is not done yet. Why the hell they gather information and show the available maids if they cant service it. How can they ask me money if they do not have maid as per my requirement and budget? Serious issue right ???

They do not provide their office address or contact details in their website to contact. There is only oneway communication. So I do not know whom to reach out for my Refund. HAve left several messages in their website but unfortunately no revert. What you call this type of services.
Basis above I rate this agency as another FRAUD and CHEATER in this line.

Yes I agree with Brij Agarwal, there is no office address or contact details mentioned anywhere on their website to contact. When you register you usually get a confirmation email, I haven't received any such emails till date. I like a fool even paid them Rs. 1000 for priority services. But no confirmation whatsoever again.. and no calls have been made.. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY ALSO TURNED OUT TO BE NOTHING BUT SOPHISTICATED FRAUDSTERS AND CHEATERS

Bookmybai — Not as good as expected

Another fraud maid services agency of Mumbai. They asked me to use pre-payment and I am still struggling to get a maid from them. It's been over 15 days.

While posting the requirement (before making the payment) we clearly mention that the salary of a 24 hour maid starts at 14000 per month. If it's not in your budget then you should not have paid in the first place.

However if you have paid then we would have refunded the money within 2 working days. In case you have not received the refund kindly post your details on the contact us form and we will issue the refund.

We place over 100 maids on a daily basis and we are the only authentic company in the country on do that. We are not here to steal Rs. 1000 from you. We are corporates and for us client satisfaction and ethics comes at the highest level.

Stop claiming that you are a genuine company..you would provide contact details to call i[censored] were indeed genuine..we keep submitting contact us form but till date have never received a call from you..I have paid rs.1000 for priority service yet not a single call till date..Please advise the refund procedure here and also give me a call if you are genuine

Also I hope you understand that if we were a fraud company we would not have taken such steps to resolve the problem. In all likelihood there is some miscommunication. Alternatively you can also share the full name with which you have created an account since we do not have any account in the name of "Brij Agarwal"

This service is a hoax and a way to scam the customers. In the beginning they are very accommodating and quick with their response as they want the one time salary surcharge of the employee being hired through them. After when you ask for replacements they accuse the customer of not treating the domestic help well so as to find excuses to avoid sending replacement. Absolutely DO NOT go to them they completely lack professionalism and the quality of their Bai's is terrible!!!

As much as we care about our clients we also care the same amount for the maids who get placed with us. We place over 1000 maids every month and we seldom receive complaints of harassment to the maid. If we receive any complaint we take it very seriously as we as a company believe that if there is a lady who is working for you she should be treated like a human being and not as a slave. I sincerely hope you understand our concern.

However if you think that there has been any miscommunication from our or maids side we would take this up immediately and resolve the matter.

I just made a payment yesterday but there is no way to know when I will receive a call and a bay for interview. After reading all these complaints I feel that my money also is going to be lost. Why is there a standard response that people complaining have not given the right contact details! I googled and it looks like that the maid profiles are fake. If you are not fake then please get someone to call me for requirement id 112947 posted on your website with payment.

With all due respect please understand that it takes one minute for anyone to post a consumer complaint and spoil the name of the company which is trying to solve such a big problem.

You did not get a call for last 2 days since our office were closed on the occasion of Eid. You will get a call today for the requirement.

There are multiple people whose business is effected because of bookmybai and they try to post fake consumer complaints so that people like you stop trusting us. It's your decision whether you want to trust that or not.

I reside outside of India and due to medical reasons I needed to get a live in maid for my mother last year. I was referred to bookmybai by a diferrent satified NRI patron. I will list the good as I believe in giving credit where it is due.

Very good communication in 2015. We had a list of 3 potential matches to our requirements. Selected the first candidate that we interviewed. Paid 15K per month which based on my market research was 20% more than prevailing market rate. No complaints about the individual helping us.

We were so satisfied that I have been recommending bookmybai to all my friends who have elderly care needs in India. I know of at least 3 people who have taken advantage of bmb's offerings.

Fast forward to 2016 at the end of one yearof the contract, bookmybai is now presuurising the maid to resign and move to a new family. They have offered us the option to retain the exisitng maid if we pay the one month referral fee. This in my mind is pure extortion. I hire contractors for work on a daily basis. If i ever came across such business practices from any of my vendors not only would they be blacklisted forever in my org but also i would share the info with other orgs that have similar hiring needs.

Anupam - you seem like a smart guy who wants to build a business that has long term value. I hope you see the error of making a small gain at the cost of long term reputation. I hope you end this silly practice that will earn you maybe an extra $200 per annum per contract but may end up losing revenue in multiples of that #.

I hope that I can continue to be a proponent of your excellent service and that you will do the right thing for your long term customers.

I can assure you that no one and absolutely no one from my office has called the maid and asked her to leave. Also you mentioned that someone called you to pay again to retain the maid. We do not work on that policy and I can guarantee no one from my office has called you for this either. I would take this matter very seriously since I am sure no one from my office is responsible for this. We have made a payment to your company for assisting us in securing 2 maids, however the maids provided to us have had no experience or even capable of the very job assigned, some don't even know Hindi, all this despite offering Rs. 20, 000/- per month per maid. You asked us to keep them for trial period at Rs. 16, 000 per month. Your maids have conveniently left us in a few days stating they don't wish to work here & now your phones go unanswered. We need you to provide us a replacement else please settle the salary of these maids on trial out of the service fee provided to you since you have been absolutely unprofessional & we see no reason that you earn your fees for duping us. We need you to take this matter seriously since we have reason to believe that you are hand in glove with such maids to make a mockery out of our genuine need for assistance. If you are a serious agent then please assist us in securing good maids even as high as Rs. 20, 000 per month else refund us our monies.

We have never refused to provide you a replacement for the maid. However there were 2 maids from our side at your home. They have worked for over 15 days and you have not given them their salary. Under this circumstance we will not be able to give you a replacement if the salary of the previous maid is not cleared. The day you clear the salary of the previous maid, we will give you a replacement immediately. We are a company which many household trusts and we live upto everyones expectations. However if you make the maid work and then do not pay them their salary there is nothing anybody can do about it.

The maid "Apoorva" has worked for about 7 days and the other maid "Bhagya" worked for over 15 days. Both the maids salary has not been paid by you. Unless you clear the salary of both the maids we will not be able to send a replacement. As soon as the salary of the previous maid is cleared, we will send a replacement same day itself.

Was just reading up on bookmybai. Thank God, I read all of this. Unlikely I am coming to you. And please make note it's not because of the complains. It'd because the way you choose to deal with them.

It's unfortunate that we sometimes get clients who exploit maids by making them work and not paying them salary. The act is inhuman. The poor girls leave their home, their family and come all the way to earn some livelihood. I think it's extremely unfair for anyone to take advantage of that. Ms. Lakshmi promised to pay the salary here on the consumer Forum site, the case was completely different when we spoke to her on the phone. Ultimately we had to pay the salary of the maid who worked in their house. If you think that such people who exploit poor girls need to be responded in a better way, I would really beg to differ.
