[Resolved]  Chennai RPO — renewal of minor passport

I took my daughter who is a minor to the passport Seva Kendra Saligramam on 27/02/2014. Her file Number is: MA[protected]. I wanted to add my family name in her new passport. I submitted her 10th certificate which had the family name added as proof. But the application was put on hold by section C staff asking for an affidavit and name change news paper advertisement. When I went with those details on 04/03/2014, I was asked to meet the APO. She verified the documents and asked for a letter from the school, as to how her name was changed in the 10th certificate. Again my daughters file is put on hold. Now I have to go another day, just for this. Every time we go, we meet a new person, who comes up with a new query. I don't know what problem they will come up with in my next visit. Looks like each one has their own rule. What one staff says we don't need, the other staff in the next counter says we need. Already we are put through so many sections and verifications, so I ask sir, to look into the matter and instruct the passport office staff to be courteous and tell us what they exactly need in the first visit itself as it takes half a day for the procedure.
