Citibank — Fraudulent Translation | |||
I had received a call from a lady stating that she is from citibank and asked me of i wanted to convert my credit card points. I said yes and she asked me verification question what are the last four digits of the Card. Which was confirmed by me. She said i will receive call shortly and in few mins i receive a call from guys. He was connected to the IVR and asked me to punch in the CVV number which i did. He the said i would have received a verification message i confirmed i received it he has me to confirm if which i did. I got suspicious about the call and called the Citibank customer care immediately, I asked the officer if they had called me, offer had confirmed there was no call made. i asked her to block my card. She said sir there is a mobile number update which had just happened. I told her i did not request for any number change. She asked me to go her head and block the internet baking which i did. Sir the there is a transaction of Rs 9999 that is done on your card. I told i am talking to you how can do it. The officer gives me the merchants name. I tell inform the merchant to block. Sir you will have to call us after 2 to 3 days only after the merchant claims. we can do anything. After a week citibank confirm sir u gave the OTP so we tried our best and was only able to recover 1000 changes from this transaction. Was this information helpful? | |||
