Cleartrip — They booked my hotel reservation but I could not get a room when I reached the hotel | |||
I had booked a hotel room at Shri Prayagraj Hotel, Allahabad through Cleartrip; Trip ID [protected] for 2 days, 8th August to 10th August 2015, but when I reached the hotel, the manager there told me that no such booking has been made. I called "Cleartrip support" who then 'tried' to speak to the manager but no room was allotted to me. Finally, I had to approach a Police support booth who then negotiated and helped me get an inferior quality room, meant for the hotel staff at a price of Rs 500 per night. After 2 days, of calling cleartrip, now they have agreed to refund my booking amount but still they are not willing to pay any compensation for the trouble they caused me. If one would take a look at their hotel booking policy, you would notice that the customer is liable to pay Rs 300 for any cancellation made before 24 hours of the check-in time, and 100% of the hotel reservation fee if the cancellation is made within the 24hours of check-in. However, they are not willing to compensate a penny for a booking that was confirmed from their side, but did not manage to get me a room when I arrived at the hotel. I demand apology from their end and adequate compensation for the trouble they caused me. Was this information helpful? | |||
