Reader's Digest — Failure to Deliver Prize

I receiced a letter on 12/26/09, saying that I had received a Cash Prize. After calling and communicating with the office given, all fees were paid. (Funds were supplied for this purpose) And a delivery date was set. It has now been a week and a half, since the first estimated date of arrival. Not only have I not heard from their office again, but, when I call, I do not get anyone. Only a message: "The Customer you are trying to reach is not available at this time. Please call back." I am at a loss of words, to explain how I feel. I thought the prize money was a miracle. Now, I do not believe I will ever see any part of it. Please help, as I may soon be put out of my home, and have utilities turned off. Any news would be appreciated. Just let me know what is going on. Thank You. ------Dawn Hester
I started reading readers digest when I was in my 5th standard.(on a sarawati pooja day as i remember and boasted).More than any thing I believed that it is because of readers digest that i have got a good vocabulary.

My brother always told me that this sweeptakes contest is a fraud.I always told him readers digest cannot be cheap like that, because it has always kept its standard.

My doing this, you have shattered an integral part in me.It is fine to have a marketing strategy like this, but you should be honest, because you are supposed to be like that.

I am 29...but today my 11 year old heart is devastated. The faith and respect I had for you is gone.

Shame !!!
had recieved a letter from Reader's Digest and asked to send the form duly signed, time to time they send us so many attractions for taking teir (Costly) material by VPP. I did same but till today i did not have recieve any information from their side.

i have also received such letter, on 12th january 2009 i recd. one letter stating that i have to reply within 7 days and there are some stickers for the offer. Also there a free gift car .
my only concern is what amount of payment any winner must have paid OR on declaration as a winner of sweepstakes do we need to pay any amount towards any tax or any other tax.

They Should be held accountable for this "FALSE PROMOTIONS"

Readers Digest — freegifts

Please see why this is not clear to so many o[censored]s who have received this form for "free gifts". There is no email address to find. It is a waste of time and a shame that a well-known publication would run this type of program. We need to have some answers, now!
I have been purchasing RD for 40 years and have received many oportunities to win many different amounts of big money (?). I have never won any or ever met anyone that had won any big amount of money. I called and questioned RD about this as I had never seen any notice of who winners etc. They send me a list of winners names and where they live so I proceeded to call these people to see if it was true that they had won big throu RD. None of the people on the list resided where they were listed which leads me to believe even the list was false. After many years of enquiring about RD winners I would think I would have met someone that won or they new of someone that had won but no such luck. Not in Canada, USA, Dominican Republic, Australia or England. Where are the darn winners?
maybe because it was only till Dec; look on the top right of the card you recieved.

Reader's Digest — # free gifts

I too, like many others, have tried to reach Readers Digest about these 3 free gifts and have only found myself on the complaint page.

Not being able to reach a site highlighted in my magazine or subscription notice has been a frequent problem with RD for the past year! I am also not thrilled with the changes they have made recently to the magazine.

Kim
hey...don't need to ask about the list...they are bluffing...if you search the list of winners...their name can easy trace from the website...but what i got really confuse..most of the name comes from same source (same website). and also some name have connected with the company..not like they said in their rule...so..beware...the contest only their business strategies..that i think is out of date method...today people like honesty...in this case i think all the fact in their book, magazine, or anything from them can also not true...just only their writer imagination..one more this..as mention above their marketing director is Eric Lanoe ..but my letter is another person...they do have how many marketing DIRECTOR?

The draw result was already out and yet on 5 February 2009, RD sent me promotional books and sweepstake certificate to be returned within 14 days to enjoy 5 times more for the sweepstakes' draw.
More shocking is that there was an enclosed printed letter saying that I am the perfect customer and I have a vey good chance to win. If the draw result was already released in January 2008, how could I be called "Lucky"? When we bet for a lucky draw, we are always informed of the draw date. Readers Digest is unethical by fooling innocent people just to get sales of their products. I advise Readers Digest to indicate clealry the DRAW DATE for every package they sent out. For my case, does it mean that the draw date is in JANUARY 2010?????? - It is rediculous! 11 more months to wait????
Dear sweepstakes participants,

In my opinion RD always insist to reply as fast as one
could.

We must remember that the population in India is more
than one crore and the number of participants are huge
to participate in the draw and everyone cannot expect
to get prize. As far as I understand every action completely
done at random and RD also send results often along with
their new products released. But RD never compelled
anybody to puchase books to participate in the draw
but one purchases according to their taste,

One should not participate in the draw expecting a win
which coincides with so many criteria stipulated by
RD.

Are we nor feel happy with the nice and excellent way
the letters are drafted and the way the nice products
released by them.

For not getting prizes we should not blame others and
we must always remember that we did our duty with
due care without expecting results which depends
on Almightys blessings and luck depends on our Karma.

Sincerely yours,
K.V.Rangaswamy,
