[Resolved]  Airtel Broadband — Delay in new connection

Hi there,

I applied for new broadband connection at Airtel Showroom, 100 ft Road, Indira Nagar, Bangalore on Feb 04, 2010, after making sure that their port is available in my area, Kodihalli. Since it was urgent for me, I insisted for a connection at the earliest and the person in-charge promised that I would get a connection in 4 days max. I got the address verification promptly on Feb 08 and was informed that I would get the connection by the next day. Even after 3 days there was no communication from Airtel.I went to the showroom to check the status and they gave an explanation that there was a 'SP Choke' and they do not know when it would be rectified. It was Thursday and they promised that someone would call by Friday and update me. Again, there was no update till Monday.

When I went back on Monday to check the status, it remained the same. There was no progress. When demanded an explanation, they said SP Choke wont be fixed and I have to wait till another customer cancels his/her connection. this is ridiculous. I could not wait more and they said they would refund the money. But what about my 1 week?? To add the irritation, the refund will be through Cheque and it would take a week.

1) It is very irresponsible on their part not to take an initiative and call me and say that there is a problem and the connection may be delayed. Had I not visited their center, they would have never called me to update the status.

2) Secondly, before checking the availability/issue in their hub, they should not have promised a connection, particularly when I have mentioned it is urgent.

3) When a customer comes in asking for a service, they should maintain a service request. In this issue, i have been to the office for more than four times and they do not have any record of me visiting. When asked, they reply that there is no such procedure at their end. Say if the person i am talking to has quit Airtel, how do the next person know how critical it is for me? I have to explain everything again to the new person in-charge.

From their view, I am just another customer. For me, the internet connection was most important to save my job.

I am also going through the same problem now, I booked a airtel
broadband connection on 8 days ago. Excutive has collected amount and from that day i haven't got any response & no calls from airtel .we have been chasing them every day with no response. it is almost 2 weeks. . For collecting money they came with 30 min after i asked them for new connection this is disgusting service, I guess airtel has made lot of
money now its time to take them off the market . Very disappointing.

Airtel Broadband Connection — Waiting for new connection for last 1 week

For the last 1 week I am waiting for the broadband connetion .I had already paid the full payment to the airtel office in Indira Nagar 100 feet road airtel office ,Bangalore.And they are simply trying to make it delay with no reason
hi, i have have the same problem as you have faced my address is 35A kamala nehru nagar, choolaimedu, chennai . my SEF No.CH 1012041, its been two weeks now nor do they return the money nor give the connection. so i please look into this matter there should be some way to stop airtel from torturing customers . who give them business.
I am facing the same problem since last 1 month...
No help from Airtel at all inspite of numerous calls and complaints.

Same problem with me.Firstly they were not giving the connection and second thing i wanted to complaint about is that when i paid my bill online it were making making calls again and again on my no.I have gone fed up of it.And at last it was their fault.And the third thing they were not giving the proper speed for which i paid money.i took a 512kbps connection and the speed they gave was around 80-90kbps.Just want to say please take some actions because being no 1 in the market does not mean that you are having every power.So please take some serious actions

Same problem with me. I applied for it on August 2nd and now it's August 20th. I call everyday and they tell me one more day. When I ask to connect to supervisor. They say yes, and put me on hold for 10 minutes and then they disconnect the phone. How can they survive with such a service. If I had not paid them Rs 4500, I would not bother but it's rather unfortunate.

Is there a place I can escalate this. I have 0 confidence that anything will happen.
It's funny if I start the call by complaining that I have been calling everyday and cancel my service and give me my money back they immediately hang up the phone. Forget about the money this is unethical.

If you are that concerned to resolving your issue why don't you setup a hotline where all o[censored]s frustrated customers can call in you can demonstrate that you truly care.
Also Airtel keeps telling me there is backend problem and I don't buy that. Have they been having problems since Dec. 2010. This is how old this problem is on this thread. I am sure there are hundreds of others who haven't yet published their complaint on this thread.

For collecting money they came with 30 min after i asked them for new connection this is disgusting service, I guess airtel has made lot of money now its time to take them off the market . All you are worrying about just one week of time. I paid amount 1500/- to BSNL one month ago for new connection. Till now there is no response from them. If I go to SDE for follow up he simply says that We are still trying for you.

And second, I have terminated the services of Tikona 4 months ago after using one week, becoz of their worst service. Till the time there is no refund of 2500/-

I have submitted documents 5 times to different executives in a month. Every time they assure that the connection will be provided, but ultimately I get the same same result ""SP Choke".

Good thing is that I haven't paid any amount until now. Every time they ask for money I convince them that I will pay during installation.

I did not expect such worst service from airtel.
Same issue here. I applied for Airtel broadband connection in Chennai and the representative told me while getting money that the service will be granted within 2-3 days but till after 4 days there is no response from representative and airtel. when i called up the customer care they told they are processing the request and they have already sent me account number and my broadband details in sms. But i didnt any sms with such information. so i asked them to verify my details. While verifying i identified that my mobile number is updated wrongly. Its really pathetic. I have provided correct mobile number, both primary and alternative but the number updated in their system was wrong which shows how careless they are. After that i updated the mobile number and asked for status about the device installation. They told it will be installed in 48 hours. But it was already morethan 48 hours and i didnt receive any update/call from airtel. This is really worst. I was chasing them but they are not responding properly. this shows that their service is very worst.
Myself Mohankumar from Padur, Chennai, Herewith i request you to provide the broadband connection for my apartment. At first, right now we need 6 connection in my apartment.There was no feasibility for our apartment area, so consider this request and give us the new connection.And i'm dam sure it will increase in future as upto more than 20 connection, because since it was the developing area nearby you can find IT-park and International school in my area.
So I hope the reply ASAP.Please reach me at anytime.

For this mail request i'm not getting any reply form them, Since the feasibility is not there ok. But since its the developing area they have to give the new connection, But i don't know they delaying on their process.

I am also facing same problem, Airtel broadband store people called me about new airtel broadband connection.They confirmed feasibilty of new airtel broadband connection in my address.They collected documents and paid fee via online.After 2 days i contacted airtel broadband store people, simple they are escaping by saying it will take time.Almost 1 week completed now they are saying there is a problem in internet cable to your area it will take another 2 to 4 days to resolve.Worst customer care service.Before taking new connection they will talk nicely but after we paid fee even they will not lift our calls.Almost i called 100 times to airtel store and customer care people.
I wanted an airtel broadband connection. When i called airtel, they said no feasibility in my area. after 2 monhts, an executive names ramesh came to my home and said now we have feasibility and can give connection. i filled the form and gave it.

after 3 days airtel back end team called me and they were online with my over the phone and took online payment over airtel website for the new connection.

when they were saying, you guys said no feasibility. but the person was taking payment said, now we have feasibility and no issues now.

after payment, they stopped answering my calls. after 5 days. i called airtel customer care. and they say, sorry, we cant do anything as no feasibility and we will refund your money.

seriously airtel has become one of the worst service providers from the best.
