I have been using airtel post paid connection till dec 2008, as i planned to move to U.S.A, I requested to cancel my connection in airtel customer care center( Indira nagar, Bangalore) on 11 on dec 2008, but it was not canceled and i was receiving bills and i could see that the connection is still in active state. i raised a complaint about this on 3 of feb 2009, to the customer care center, Somebody named sathish from cancellation department told me that it would be canceled within 24 hrs. On 12 march 2009 i saw that it was still active, so i called up the customer care on the same day, they told me to clear the outstanding, WHICH I WAS NOT AT ALL USING still i cleared on the same day through online payment and the call was transferred to same person satish from cancellation department, he regretted for the inconvenience and again told that he would ask the concern department to cancel it and he assured that it would be cancelled within 24 hrs. It was deactivated the next day, however I could see it active state now on 24th of march. Now i am staying in Nashua U.S.A and i will not be able to use the sim card nor talk to the customer care, I kindly request you to cancel my airtel postpaid connection immediately.
Please help me out in this regards. It has been very frustrating for me to go over this.

I have been suffering a similar plight. Looks like it is a tactic employed by Airtel to not allow users to easily deactivate postpaid connections so that they may keep fleecing money from subscribers, irrespective of whether the service is getting used or not. It is really shameful to see this coming from Airtel that boasts of quality service but does so poorly in terms of professionalism!
Had requested them to deactivate my number 997246488 way back in April. They simply ignored the request but kept on piling up charges for for nothing. Finally, they deactivated it for "non-payment" of dues and threatening me of legal consequences. What kind of harassment is this? Is anyone listening? Is there no-one who would give a ear to such grievances and deliver justice?

I am unable to talk to customer care via cell as i m abroad and already sent mail to email@example.com more than a month before. i got a auto acknowledgement still i am waiting for aresponse instead, i m getting a ebill. and service charge is added also.
Well the cell is used (as roaming ) by my parents , but as they stay far than the airtel office, they cant do, rather the connection is by my name. please suggest what else i need to do.

I’m Vineet Sharma and I had parched Airtel Prepaid connection. In Aligarh before six month that time I submit all documents but before three week Airtel company cut my connection without given information and I did call the customer care that person told me your document not complete so that’s why cut your connection.
Firstly I want to know without submit document connection How can work Four months.

My name is Hasrat Shahin and i have a postpaid connection in my name and i have been sending request to deactivate my number 9748762494 for last one month and guys there in the customer care they have been saying that it will be done in the next 24 hours each and every day whenever i used to call them. i m totally fed up with this things and i m completely not at all satisfied with their service. i don't know what to do but i m totally upset about these things. Even i want to take any legal action.

This is Dr Vinay K K(Radiology, Manipal Hospital, Airport road, Bangalore). This mail is regarding the endless problem iv been having after taking a new airtel postpaid connection(9980928817), which even after verification on the very next day i got the new sim card, for some unknown reasons to me is being deactivated(twice til now) on the basis of failure of verification.
I had sent a complaint through email to firstname.lastname@example.org the last time i had a similar problem probably about 10 days ago and the problem was solved in an hour or so.
Iv given my driving liscence for the address document which has my permanent address as follows,
No 35, 6th A cross, 2nd main,
KHB colony, Gandhinagar,
and the hospital address which is as follows,
Dept of Radiology,
Airport road, Bangalore-17.
The verification was done in the hospital the very next day i bought the new sim card.
Today evening i find my card deactivated and when i approached an airtel outlet i was told that the problem is with the verification.
I had taken two postpaid connections earlier to the present one where the number which was activated was different from the number which was promised to me by the concerned airetel executive.I refused for the verification on that occasion after which i was told that the number which i had selected would be given to me.But it so happened that both the numbers were deactivated stating verification failure.
I got the present connection from the same airtel executive because he accepted the problem was from the company(he said he had done his job promptly).he even promised to refund the amount paid for the two connections ie, rs 600 which has not yet been done.
Finally for no mistake of mine i ended up paying 900 for one connection, the present one, which is being haunted by the problem iv mentioned earlier.
Kindly look into the matter and please do the necessary to reactivate my number(9980928817) immediately.It would be of great help if a permanent solution could b found for the same.
