[Resolved]  Airtel Iptv — Service Deficiency, Non-functioning and No-Service Availability of New IPTV service for 10 days since installation

Dear Sir,

I enrolled for Airtel IPTV Service on 04 Feb 2010 vide at my residence in Lajpat Nagar-IV, New Delhi. The Triple play Service launched recently caters to Telephony, Broadband Internet and TV over a single line.

For the installation of service, I’ve paid Rs.1750/- as installation charge with a monthly pack of Rs.999 per month which includes unlimited broadband at 256kbps speed and a landline connection. This amount paid vide cheque dated 3/2/2010 to Bharti Airtel and the same has been encashed on 9/2/2010.

My experience so far has been VERY FRUSTATING, full of agony, mental torture and all my communication is affected which has deeply hurt my family, my aged parents and my profession/patients.

The service worked initially for 2 days only. Since my complaint on 06 Feb 2010, the service has not worked at all. Me and my father's repeated calls to Airtel service centers are either disconnected by CSRs or not logged at all. I am always told that either the Server is down or the Server is getting upgraded. I’ve been talking to Airtel technical contact Mr. Anand Agarwal ([protected] – system installer) almost daily (for last 8 days) to get the service working but everyday he tells me system upgrade is not over yet.

If the service was launched recently, I fail to understand the need for a server upgrade. Why has the service been commercial when the basic infrastructure is not ready to support the triple service.

As if this harassment was not enough, I’ve received my first bill (Bill No.[protected] dated 09 Feb 2010) for the amount of Rs.2072.43/-. Airtel has mischievously added Rs.1750/- again (the same amount I already paid for installation) in this bill alongwith applicable tax charges to hike the amount of bill. This is nothing but duping the customer and using false and cheating methods to extract the money out of the consumer. I will be filing a separate complaint for the same with TRAI to bring this issue in limelight as I won’t let Airtel take consumers for a ride by not providing the service and charging doubly.

My family members are deprived of their entertainment needs as the TV is down. My kids school assignments are affected as they cannot do their research on internet and they have to spend money on cyber cafes and a family member has to accompany them for the same which causes lot of inconvenience and has upset the family schedule. My profession is affected since I cannot contact my patients for their problems or after-care since last 10 days which is adding to my loss of income.

By subscribing to this Airtel service, I seem to have enrolled for agony, if nothing else.

I want Airtel to restore my service, confirm that the service will run uninterrupted as the whole communication gets affected with this service, refund me the installation amount and compensate me for the denial of services, false hope and false promises, non-functioning of Telephone, Broadband and TV and for the harassment, mental agony and loss of income it has caused to me, my aged parents, my kids and other family members.

Also, Airtel should be directed to put in a geographic redundant system so there are no further excuses like service upgrades the whole communication needs are affected by an untested system/service. Allowing such services on one pipe is catastrophic itself in nature and such services let Airtel monepolize and take the customer to ransom by not committing to restoration of services. No Telecommunication services should be allowed to run if the Operator cannot restore it in 2-3 hrs.

I've complaint on 8.3.2010 that our IPTV is not working properly but till date nothing is done by airtel. They send their people who just do some formal check ups and tell that it can't be done here, or some optical fgibre problem and go back. So please do take care of it .
you does not providing proper service and remote control not working of iptv i request yu to please see or check it
i stay in North Delhi region of Delhi... We are having worst experience of IP TV installed at our place and it doesn't work most of the times and now it is not working at all since a week ...CCO has come to our place to rectify it but problem is still the same ... It is just 1-2 months we had it ... I find that it is waste paying 1800 for the installation and then every month as it doesn't work prperly at all... Our local cable operator's connection works better than this IPTV...

Airtel Broadband IPTV — Agony with Airtel customer care

I got airtel 2 IPTV connection installed in Dec 2010, since then I am undergoing a mental trauma. My Dec'10 phone bills were blown out of proportion. Even after making an initial payment for the Set Top Boxes(1750x2), the same was not reflected in my first bill and they added the amount to the bill. Later when I called the customer case I got a confirmation that I can reduce the amount and pay the bill. But my agony doesn't end here, next month's bill (Jan 2011) they added the late payment fee even though I made the payment well in time. Mid month my call services got blocked and even after raising multiple concerns, the customer care did not help me in reinstating my services. I am totally fed up of the services and got stuck up with a useless box here. To make any call I need to use my cell or my family needs needs to rely on local PCO.
My suggestion for any new subscriber is to think twice before opting for Airtel IPTV services.

from 2 days i have problem on iptv
and the problem is channels are taking around "20 SECONDS" to change
i guess airtel iptv has started new format to display the information of every channel after changing it...this causes delay in changing the channel

and second problem is information is not correct which is shown
for example- if i am watching sony then information will b displayed for zee tv

i request you to please solve this problem...

and a heartly request to remove the format of showing information(AUTOMATICALLY)
WHICH LEADS TO DELAY IN CHANGE OF CHANNELS...
For past one month there is f..king change in Airtel IPTV. When I purchased it six month back, I was happy as I was not seeing banner when channels are changed, now some f..king manager at top decided to copy TataSky or similar service and every time you switch channel it'll be jammed for next 20 seconds until that banner disappear. Some f..king s/w engineer did this development and some f..king tester cleared it. I'm f..king and waiting for banner to go away and can only change 3 channels in a minute now. I'm forced to see some f..king scary scene in front of my kid and some f..king love scene in front of mother as channel does not switch even if I change the channel. If they had shown me this feature first I would have never dropped TataSky. I talked with Customer care, some of the guys even came in but they say it is back-end problem and they cannot do anything. Airtel are you hearing it? if you really want to remain in business, get this fu.king mess resolved. Dont try to fool me talking to me or me as you can fix this problem from backend only. I'm going to sue you for the mental harassment you've given me in last one month.
