I had enjoyed Airetl DTH (customer Id: 3006496953) at Gurgaon for many months and got excellent service. I moved back to bangalore and the registered the request to re-install when I reached Bangalore (2nd week of october).
The first request was closed without re-installation and also recorded as Active!!
I had it re-opened and was promised that it will be re-installed by 18th October. The local airtel installation person called me up and said he would come and install. This did not happen. Upon insisting he said that the local cable operator is a goonda and is beating him up so he cannnot come due to fear for his life. Like many people at Mantri Tranquil Apparments, (off kanakpura road, Gubbalala Village, Bangalore 61) i offered to pick him up and drop at his place. He agreed but backed out in the last miniute. This happened twice. I had requested that a person from some other zone be sent. He refused to do that either.
I had once again called up the customer care center to lodge my complaint. They registerred the same and promised to get back to me. This did not happen. Once again I had reached the customer care and asked for the status. They connected me with the higher up in call center.
The manager said that they had talked to Airtel Local person and due to the cable operator goonda-giri they cannot do anything about the matter. I was reccomened that I seek disconnection of service. This by airtel DTH customer care itself!!!!
First: This amounts to denial of service. I have purchased the connection and have every right to enjoy it!!
Second: How can a large organization like airtel (which has seen much bigger socio political problems while rolling out telecom towers) be cowed down by a petty criminal ??? is this not part and parcel of the cost of doing business !!!
Third: I am getting SMS from airtel that the connection is dis-connected since I did not renew the membership!! how would I when the system itself was not installed !!
The complex has about 1200 residents and 3 more are coming up which will have another 2000 families moving it. I am surpised that local airtel DTH executives are putting the business sense ahead of this petty issues and instead willing to loose customers esp in these economic times!!!
Someone higher up needs to seriously look into this matter and address the same.
