[Resolved]  Airtel - Postpaid — BPQ Voicemail SMS

Hi,

I received a voicemail message from AT-BPQ on 09.04.2009 and adviced to call at this number [protected]. On calling this no. they engaged my mobile for ten minutes with various information about mobile make, mobile service, year of purchase etc.and asked to TEXT Msg the Name, Address, City, Postal address & their unique code which is[protected] to [protected].

I advice AIRTEL to scrutnize such Junk SMS from their side & keep updating their customers about such Fraud SMS's, so that Airtel valued customer are not cheated by such msgs.

Thanks

Soubhaya Ranjan Dash.

Hi,

Even I got the same SMS Saying that
" You Have 1 New bpq voicemail. Call [protected]"
Dated[protected]. And I use Vodafone Prepaid ..
yes i too get this sms. by this blog i just save my money. thaks lot
My wife got this message, and called up, before talking to me. I wish, we had seen this blog earlier.
However, she made the first call, and was asked to send more information. i think she would have spent approx. Rs. 100 odd on the call, and am releived that it's only that, as I fear it could be much more like identity theft or something.
I also got the msg from TM-BPQ with number as [protected] . this should be blocked by AIRTEL lot of customer lose their valuable money .
Hey I also got same type of msg today: ""You have a new bpq voicemail, call [protected]". After getting this msg i googled and found it's a scam. I request Airtel technical guys to block this type of msgs.
All you GUYS are requested, if found such type of messages or call just follow below mentioned Instruction ...

De-register your request for NDNC registry may dial 1909 or SMS to 1909 with keywords 'START DND' for registration and 'STOP DND' for de-registration ...

In future you would never, see such type of Messages or calls, from Telemarketings side as you GUYS got and loose your money...

I have Airtel postpaid connection and i don't have ISD facility so, i didn't call the number and search what is BPQ in search engine and came to know this is fake message.
Even me too received the same sms from TM - BPQ [protected], and i called the same number to know about who called me, I request airtel to take care of these kind of sms to save AIRTEL Customers.
Just now received the same sms from TM - BPQ .

It is just a spam SMS be alert.

i got a message on 13/04/09 which read that, i had a bpq voicemail...i was a bit surprised as it was the first time, p called to that number i was said that i have won $2500, i was engaged until i lost the currency of 50 rupees...(:
i too lost around 60 Rs bal.
Most probably this might be related to identity theft. We should be more careful to let them to know our personal details.
OMG, the same s*** happened to me, now if i get charged 120... Just imagine these scammers will be earning $2500 in 1 day from us. I thought if ppl are stupid, and do all this they get scammed but the world has come to this stage that during this recession some ppl set up a service to make a living. This is what I put in my sticky note as per their instructions| I GAVE MY DETAILS BECAUSE I'M ON THE INTERNET ALOT SO I THOUGHT I GAVE MY DETAILS SOMEWHERE I LIKE TO GET CURIOUS BUT ITS NOT FOR MY GOOD I GUESS. DAMN.

txt msg - first name, last name, 1st line, city, postcode, claim code[protected]

a comma after each info

[protected].

60 days - claim.

Congratulations!! You have been punk'd... 100 bucks is something I can manage but I'm amused where
these scammers can reach.. if my service was spice or aircel I can understand but a service like Airtel and 1 of the biggest companies in India can allow this go on it is ridiculous.
