[Resolved]  Airtel Postpaid — Airtel charging even after cancelling the connection

Hi Sir,

I had an AIRTEL post paid connection with the number +91-[protected]. I had lost the SIM card in early 2009. Some time later i got a call from airtel that i have unpaid bills for that number. As it was my mistake that I did not cancell the connection, I paid all the pending amount on 2nd week of July 2009 (which are mentioned below) and requested to cancell the account.( I was forced to pay the money to have the account cancelled).

On 23rd November, i got a mail from Airtel that i still have a due of Rs:957.28 towards the connection. I had replied on the same day to that mail specifing that i have cancelled the connection, but i did not get any reply from Airtel.

After that i got about 4-5 calls from Airtel for the same problem and when i told them that i had placed a cancellation request already, they informed me that they would get back to me, but every time new representative used to talk with me.

On 4th January i got a call from Airtel legal department for the settlement of the same issue and as i dont have any service request number for which i had placed for the cancellation, they informed that they will go legally if i dont settle the bills. I clearly informed that i had cancelled the connection long back and even if we make call to that number, we get a reply that it is not a valid number. Airtel is billing for invalid numbers also.

Please register my complaint and suggest me.
