[Resolved]  Airtel — DTH Connection

I have made online payment of Rs.3290/- on 07.09.11 through my credit card for Airtel DTH HD and the same has been debited in my account thru Vriti-Interactive so far installation has not been done, and no proper response from Airtel customer service also in-spite of several calls and mails has been sent no feedback.

Dear friends do not buy Airtel DTH, they seems to be cheater of our valuable money.

i have purched a new airtel DTH connection on 12/6/10 from Shell Transource their authorised dealers in mumbai.

i was promised connection in 24 hours by the dealer. now the dealer is not taking my calls and it seems that even airte lcant do anything about it as the dealer has still not given me my activation code.

pls look it the matter
To have a DTH connection I registered in Airtel website and I got a call from the sales desk within hours of my registration in webstie. I got about 4 to 5 calls from the sales desk and once I made payment promptly I received a SMS from them giving my Customer ID and another SMS confirming to me that the installation would be done the next day at 11 am. Since no one turned up I tried to call them to know the status. To my surprise as if trained in a similar fashion I get a same set of reply, same set of false promises and same set of behaviours.

Its now more than 3 days I made several calls expecting atleast basic decency from the Customer Service executives as well from the compuny side on this issue. I sent emails to the cumpany no action, just a automated reply.

After making so many calls and so many requests Customer Service executives ask me to prove that I made payment for this connection by visiting the nearby airtel office and show the receipt. Without me paying how they sent Customer ID and how they sent me SMS on installation schedules. They say I have to wait for 48 hours after I visit the airtel center and prove the payment made by me. Thanks god I was not able to make payment online, I paid by cash and have a receipt. Airtel representative visited my house and collected cash from my house.

Now customer service guys drop my call as soon as I give my customer ID.

Its day light robbery, they chase prospective target scapegoats and they speak sweetly and once they get paid there is another set of people who are well trained to make false promises and talk politely till you get irritated. Once you reach that level they show their next level of talent "AVOIDING CALLS". You calls will never be attended. You have to out smart them using your skills and reach them and explain all the issues and then tell the customer ID then too they would drop the call.

Finally their target is cheat customers and make them run away by leaving the amount paid by them with asking for refund worrying about the tension they have to take and the good money they have to spend in collecting the bad debts.

Nice strategy by Airtel. All Airtel shareholders be happy your company would make more money for you. T

I have purchased AIRTEL DTH connection on Sept 13, 2011 through online with assistance from Atul Kumar ([protected]) - vriti-interactive.com agent

I am informed that AirTel representative would be calling me soon and the CUSTOMER ID would be communicated through mail.
But there has been no communication from AIRTEL till now.

On suspicion, I tried googling with " AirtelDTH ConnectIndia" and was surprised to see that many have reported Fraud dealing with DTH packages very similar to my case.
Now I am more worried as the person who sold me this online is not answered mail/call and I have sent mail to the Airtel customer service division ([protected]@airtelindia.com,DTH.[protected]@in.airtel.com and [protected]@in.airtel.com), but no response till now.
I didnt expect this from AIRTEL.. Please take this complaint and also let me know when i will be getting my connection

I logged one complain for my bad DTH connection where i am getting
very bad screen on some channels.Technicial visited my home and told
that set top box is faulty and when you will change this it will work
perfect but when he changed it after that result was same and problem
is not resolved and he told that there is problem with wiring and he
will come next day to sort it out, but he did not turn out. Airtel
deducted money from my account for new set top box. This is really
frustrating and i am quite upset,whatever service we are getting from
airtel tv. i am going to disconnect it and also going to lodged a
complain in consumer court.

Technician who visited, his number is [protected] , but when i tried
his cell he did not respond me.
I had an Airtel DTH connection for which I have paid subscription uptil November 2013. The DTH stopped working on 16th June 2013 and thereafter, inspite of raising a complaint every day with the customer service, airtel did not send any engineer to repair the connection.

After following up for 20 days, we asked for the connection to be disconnected and the subscription amount which was to my credit, as per their recorded message on customer service numbers, of Rs.1900/- to be refunded.

After repeated follow up, finally the set top box and remote was taken by the airtel engineer, who refused to take away the antenna, on 15th July 2013. I was informed by the customer service executives, that the refund will be effected within 15 days of collection of the set top box.

However, till date, no refund has been effected. Calls to the customer service numbers are a waste of time, as they do not understand anything and talk rubbish.

It is now a almost a month since the set top box was collected and there is no sign of the refund.
I have lodged complaint for signal loss for my connection [protected] on 26 th April 2014 which I am using from 2011.But the company could not correct the default and assign different reasons of signal loss every time the new engineer visited the premises for eg. Changing cord checking settings change of STB box twice and they charge me for engineer visit and STB box twice. It is pertinent to note that I was unwilling to change the box as at that time I was having signal loss in only one channel that is star plus but after changing the STB box I was having problem with many channels so within 10 minutes I called back the engineer Juned who changed the box but he was reluctant to bring back as he was aware that there was no problem with the box so he did not return the box and instead different box was changed within 10 days . As the problem was still continuing the complaint was again made for the same issue and I was told that once the issue is resolved the charges debited to account will be reversed and in mail they agreed that after paying the visit charge they will return and also the STB box charges will be reverted .
But as the problem is not solved and the new and funny reason given by the company is that as construction of tower is in vicinity of one km and the operations of crane when it is moving in my antenna's direction I am having the problem of signal loss in connection. I don't understand if such reason is given by the company dealing in DTH how they will survive and for what they are charging customers if they cannot find solution of signal and that too in DTH business .
Anyhow I was advised by their engineer Mr Alam to suspend the connection till the work is going on and I ask for suspension and I was told that suspension will be only for 30 days and after that charges will be debited I was shocked to know that even as advised by them I have to pay suspension charges and that will be only for 30 days. As it is pertinent to note that tower work may be for months or years I have no other alternative but to discontinue the services and hence I requested for discontinuation of service as it was no use as the last engineer also broke antenna rod and when I told him for relocation of antenna in the balcony at 2nd floor where I am staying he was reluctant to change as he as sure regarding signal problem.and was therefore unwilling to change there. Now the company even though agreed to return the charges debited are not returning the same under the pretext that same are returned only when services are continued. Even though company is aware that the services are discontinued for signal loss and they have not found out solution and the connection is discontinued due to their default are not returning the visit charges STB box charges and the charges debited to my account for last three months and has also forfeited the balance amount in my above account as discontinuation charges.
Hence I request for refund of all charges I with damages for tension and harrassment caused during the three months and installation charges which I have to incur for going for another company connection.

Hence I request for favorable compliance to my rquest .
