[Resolved]  Apollo Hospital, Delhi — Negligence and lack of seriousness

My dad was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer in Feb '09 . Prior to that he had visited Apollo hospitals in Dec'08 for a full body checkup as he was in great pain in his whole body and had lost a lot of weight and used to sweat a lot in the nights .

The doctors in Apollo told the lungs were clear (although he had cancer there) . they could not even detect that in the X Ray . They attributed all this to this high BP and Prostate problem that he had . Despite visiting the hospital many times those doctors didnt feel the need to advise some advanced tests like CT or MRI .

We lost 2 crucial months due to that else his treatment could have started in Dec itself .

Small Cell Cancer is a very fast spreading cancer and by the time it was detected it had spread to Bones, Bone marrow and a little bit on the liver .

Although by the grace of God and Doctors at AIIMS and our Homeopathic doctor he has been able to come out of it . But if we would have depended on the doctors at Appolo any longet it would have been disasterous for us.

These folks just want to mint money . They see patients as an ATM . They do not have the soul and honesty which a doctor should have.

this hospitals negligence would have costed many ppl their lives . It should be barred

regards,
Sheenam

Which homeopathic doctor helped you out. I am also looking for a good homeopath in Delhi
This is a very sad incident. This incident can be compared with the former Minister's Mr.Kumaramangalam. Even after active cancer in the body, Apollo doctors failed to detect in time. Why? Are they quacks or doctors in reality?
Are the doctors in Apollo Hospitals negligent/careless, not accountable towards their professions? Then what about the high medical degrees they hold? The rising number of medical negligence cases in Apollo Hospitals is really a blot on them and I think their names should be published in LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS certainly for medical negligence.
The Apollo Indraprastha Hospital, has certainly failed to maintain its high standards in providing quality medical care to its patients, which is reflected clearly in the rise in number of medical negligence in the said hospital. Why is the hospital having such an attitude towards its patients? If they are unable to provide proper medical care to their patients, it is high time they switch over to some other trade like Supermarkets, hotel industry, holiday resorts etc. and hand over their medical service to some other responsible group of hospitals, so that the patients do not suffer much in terms of life and money. After all, human life is more precious than anything else.
Apollo Indraprastha Hospital in Delhi which was once considered to be a Hospital of very high standards has now drastically declined to a way side nursing home, whose motive is only to mint money. The hospital treats its patients as a blank cheque which can be cashed anytime according to its wish.
Hi,

Some time back I had a small trouble with Apollo, for which I placed a complaint at http://www.apollohospitals.com/feedback.php . The Apollo team was very quick to respond and made sure that the problem was solved. You should register your complaint and I’m sure they will get back to you just as they responded to me.
