[Resolved]  Atm Card — Card retained 5 days back, with out payment

I am Brij Bhushan Chawla having my savings account with your Lake Gardens Branch for long thirty years. On 5th July 2009, sun day last I wanted to use the ATM booth near Canara Bank, Lake Gardens branch. The money was not given and the card was retained by the booth. Next morning I went to the bank and I was told that ' The branch can not do anything as the system is with third party operator. The card will be returned only when the third party comes to the booth, which normally is on alternate days. Today is Thursday ie 5th day from date of retention. I am yet to receive my card.

Now my request to the authority is to put themselves in a customer shoe. A customer who is from a different city( Could be a country also) who wanted to draw some money. Because of some reason know to you or your ATM, you have not paid the money and retained the card. This is the card through which he had purchased his return air ticket.He has no money and his reurn ticket is not valid as he can not show the card.

Further this was a episode at Lake Gardens Kolkata. The third party is at Jadabpore just 2 K.M away and it can not be returned even after five days.

When spoke to the Manager of the branch and Manager at third party there reply was ' we are help less the system is like this. We are trying to protect your security.
