[Resolved]  BMIET — Non return of Refundable Fee

This is in the reference of our mail dated 22.02.10. We have not received any resolution of our concern regarding non return of refundable fee. Please do the needful ASAP.



I would like to bring to your notice the case where BMIET is not refunding the fees.

My daughter has taken admission in BMIET (Bhagwan Mahaveer Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sonepat Bhalgarh Road, Sonepat – 131001 (Haryana) Email: - [protected]@ bmiet.net) on 26.8.2009 and attended the College for 15 days as she got admission in I.P. University. I request the principal in writing to refund the amount of Rs. 72,325/- after adjusting the pro-rata fee for the period for which my daughter attended the College. But no refund has been given, so far.

In this context, I would like to draw the attention to news given by AICTE published in ‘Navbharat Times, New Delhi’ on 13.102009 wherein AICTE has clearly advised the colleges to refund the fee.

Further, by a recent judgement of the Consumer Forum (published in Dainik Jagran Dated 20.10.2009) Yamuna Nagar has instructed the Haryana State Counseling Society and the concerned College to refund the counseling amount plus 9% interest thereon after deducting Rs. 1000/- in such cases.

Keeping in view the above facts in mind, the fee of Rs. 72,325/- after deducting the pro-rata fee for the days (i.e. 15 days) attended by my daughter and processing fee, if any, may be got refunded at the earliest.
