[Resolved]  Canara Bank — Customer service

I am vijaya. S,

My father is holding savings account in canara bank, pallavaram brach, chennai, my father got debit card but that card has not activated so far even today. I have stepped and out to the bank for more than three times. There has been no action taken by the officer who has taken in charge of issuing debit cards, last week before, again i have approached the officer for the same issue. That officer didn’t hear my issue and went to ground floor to refill the cash to the atm which i actually don’t know that he is going to atm. If he wound let me know means i at least come another day for this.

I thought that he is taking some break and keep waiting with hope that he will return back after 10minutes. After i lost my patient i asked about him to the security who was roaming around there. He just treated me very worst without politeness. Not only for me but for everybody who has approached to him. Some illiterate people is asking some doubts to the officers who is in charge of counters. But few officers in that branch are not responding well and shouting at them. One man got shout from a officer and he approached to the branch manager to raise complaint. But the branch manager not even listen that what he is trying to tell.

This is all happening in the canara bank in pallavaram, chennai. No officers are controlling poor behavior of security; manager is not controlling the poor behavior of officers. They are showing there unity to the customers and that is coming out as harassment.

Me and my family members having account in 4 different banks other than canara, i have not seen such a poor service without politeness anywhere around chennai.

I don’t want the action to be taken for my issue. I want the action for entire services in that branch. My father is monthly paying insurance money through canara bank account. Only because of that he have no way to close his account.

People will be glad if action take regards this,

Canara Bank — Canara Bank Service Issue

Dear Sir / Ma’am



This is to bring your notice I’ve an Savings Bank account in the above mentioned Bank (in Tamilnadu - Nagarcoil –Meenakshipuram Branch) .I have requested them to sent Internet Banking User ID and Password .Base on my request they have processed and sent the User ID to my residence address

In that a note also mentioned As a security measure we have dispatched you login and Transaction passwords separately in case you do not receive the passwords with in next 10 days please mail to our e-mail ID [protected]@canbank.co.in



I had received this user ID one month back (On 23/09/2009) but still I have not received the passwords . I‘ve forwarded so many E-mails to mentioned e-mail ID but there is no reply from their side.. Mail forwarded also Attached for your reference..

I have discussed with canara bank and they told me that if axis bank inquire of the said transaction then they will give you clearance about transaction.

This is very urgent matter because you have debited my account on the spot then you should credit my account on the spot if there is no problem from customer like me.

If that is your regular problem then you should resolve this with your superiors. If you have any problem let me know. This issue is pending from last 3 days and yet my money not credited . pl give me your superiors email id so I can discuss with them and solve my problem.

I deposited Cheque No. 055188 for Rs.13, 000/- in Karol Bagh Branch on Thursday the 25th day of February, 2010 and the same was taken in the Ledger on Friday the 26th February, 2010. On 27th day of February, 2010 [Saturday] a working day the amount was not shown in the effective balance in the account; 28th February [Sunday] and 01st March, holiday on account of `HOLI' festival. I could not withdraw more than Rs.2000/- which was available without taking into account the credit of Rs.13000/-. Bank has levied Rs.20/- + Rs.2/-[Service Tax] on account of non-retention of minimum balance whereas Rs.13, 000/- have been taken in the Ledger balance. We are transacting in a mercantile manner of accounting and there is no iota of doubt that the bank hold to my credit Rs.13029/- after that withdrawal of Rs.2000/- THEN WHAT FOR CHARGES RS.22/- on a/c of Minimum balance. PLEASE REVERSE THE ENTRY as a customer should not be taxed for the slackness on the part of bank employees not performing the act of regularizing the transactions for days together.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO REVERSAL OF THIS ENTRY IN MY AFORESAID ACCOUNT. Amount though insignificant, it casts a stigma that there being no minimum balance, bank has penalized therefore.

i applied for the for probetionary cleark post, for it i took chalan, i went to Canara Bank, Naupada, Thane (W)400602.i went in morning, the staff was so lazy and taking too much time 2 work done. i paid money, den on recpt counter that female called back @ evening to get back receipt.
she told me wait half n hour i waited. aft that i asked another female about my chalan receipt she said same, u hav wait half n hour. i was waiting then finally me n 1 of guy asked them what happend about receipt, then they find the receipts on another table which was already ready. but before it those female lied to us by saying it need be sign. after all this haaped i asked that female ' my receipt was already ready then why u made me for 1 hour wait?' the reply was un expected and may be made bad image of canara bank. she said " agar canara bank me apply karna hai to is taraha ka wait karna hi padega' i was very disapponted by this staff.
my request is please kindly give attention to the thane branch. it's not a compliend by me one but other also faced dis situation for draft and chalan.

I am a very old customer of Canara Bank, Udumalpet, Tamilnadu having account for more than 30 years. My grievance is that the service of our branch is very poor because the shortage of bank staffs. And also the com. systems were also very slow and often hangs. The valuable time of the customers are wasted at the branch and huge crowed accumulates at the branch. Even the cheque books were not available. In the competitive world even the smaller banks were offering very good services like air conditions etc, but canara is very poor service. Kindly take care and do the needful for the customers.

Sir, I have tranjected Rs. 1000 on 24-06-10 around 11:50 am from SBI ATM at Gandhi Gang, Gadh road, Hapur, UP but my transaction was not successful. I neither get Rs 1000 nor any slip. Just I went to Union Bank ATM in the same location I found there Rs. 10, 000 debit from my account and my balance is only RS. 88 while my balance should be Rs 10088. After that I went to Canara Bank, at Railway Road, Hapur, branch. I checked and found that Rs 10, 000 has been tranjected at 11:56 am on 24-06-10, I was shocked that how can it happen. I met to Manager of SBI and ATM section and told all the events. They told to me your money may come in your account in 24 to 48 hours.
I went to Canara Bank for giving the application on 25-6-10 they did not accept and respond. After that I sent an application to Canara Bank MCSCCV Fountain, Chandni Chowk Delhi -110006 by courier (Blaze Flash) on 25-06-10.
Hence, I would like to request to you kindly, see this issue and enquire where my money is. Credit Rs 10, 000 in my account

Good morning this is srinidhi i had my sb account in canara bank in k.r.pet branck in that branch stafs are not responting to any one, , , , , , , , if i want to do entry to my pass book it will take to 1 week...they dont know to how to respond there costomer ...and i applied for ATM after 15 days a message came to my mobile to collect my ATM but i asked the branch manager but he is not giving my ATM...i asked more then 5 times

Canara Bank — non transfer of account bala

dear sir,
my child was studying at Puttparthy AP and her accouont was in Canara bank there. on completion of studies she moved to delhi and v applied for transfer of accoount balance to new account at souoth extension new delhi. it is about one month,now v keep on telphoning them but does not seem to have caused it.
though the authy ar very nice while responding on phone but unless claims are cleared transfrd for so long how can v proceed.
the branch being at such a top class place like puttparthy Andra pradesh,i cant use harsh words but just say it is unfortunate.

CANARA BANK ATM PALLAVARAM BRANCH — Money debited from account but not delivered to the person.

Dear Sir/Madam,
This is Pushparaj Karthik, s/o M Pushparaj. My father owns a Debit card with Indian Bank, which is also his salary account. On Thursday (10/03/2011), he tried to withdraw a sum of Rs. 10000 from Indian Bank ATM centre, Pallavaram branch. The transaction got failed and he tried to withdraw the same from CANARA BANK ATM centre, Pallavaram branch. Upon inserting the debit card in the ATM machine, the screen did not show any information regarding the transaction after entering the amount but ejected the card with black screen on the display. He waited for about 1 minute to collect the slip but the slip receipt was also not rolled out.Also, there was no security guard; we are not able to enquire the details.
As neither the cash nor the transaction slip was delivered, he collected the card and returned home. When he tried with other bank ATM he checked the avaialble balance it seems that amount was already debited in CANARA BANK ATM.But the sum of Rs. 10000 which got debited was not yet credited.
Upon complaint to the Indian Bank Manager, he confirmed that the transaction got successful with CANARA BANK ATM and so it was debited. The details as provided by you are as follows:

When I tried complaining the matter to CANARA BANK MANAGER (Pallavaram Branch).He did not respond to us properly and arrogantly saying the same reason that the amount was debited which means the transaction is successful. When I asked for the proof of camera he added saying that there is no camera and we do not have security guard also.
Please take proper action about the manager and the bank services for irresponsible answers and poor service.
Please kindly do the needful at the earliest.And Try to give my fathers amount back through Bank.

I have a NRE account of Canara Bank. When i trasfer amount to canara they are not give me any feedback by SMS or Email. On thursday i transfer amount and i called somany times after they attand the line i ask them if my remitance finish or not. Just they said not yet after they disconnect the line. i want to ask them something more before my conversation they disconnect. so i have other bank also account. but i am facing problem with canara bank only. so next week i will go for vacation and i will cancel my account from CANARA. I am not satisfied with your bank...

Iam the a/c holder in ur bagur branch (hassan Dist) . We facing so many service prblm in ur bank like 1)they not entered the passbook properly.
2)There is no custmer service
3)Computers not working properly
4)Here working 3 staffs only

So pls solve this problem immdiatly.

Almost all the branch of Canarabank have the problem. Employees never respect people. I've account in
Canarabank Theni branch. For updating passbook also you have to wait for 3 to 4 hours, Once you give him to update the passbook immediately he will tell you that, come after 2 or 3 hours. Not only this, I got my ATM card after 1.5 years of opening the account. Still I did not get my Internet password. I got my username.(this is the only thing I got on time).

I've another problem in my home loan account with Canarabank, This is another story, I took loan of 15 Lakhs and repayment year is 15 years. In June 2010 I changed my repayment is years to 10 years and my EMI also increased from 17500 to 19200 and my last installment date is 15/05/2020.
Recently I checked the account and found that final installment date got changed to 15/06/2011 and interest they were charging was what they charge for 15 years. I I sent so many emails and went bank, no response. Last month I went bank and told them that you have to clarify me, the person Ramakrishnan said, I do not know, because I've not done this. I argued him, one of your employee only did and you are in that position now you have to clarify me. He keeps telling I do not know, I've not done this. I do not want to leave him. I told him that if you are not clarifying me I wont leave from here. He asked me to come after 2 days because i wanted to check all the details what has happened. after 2 days he started telling the same thing and if you want you last installment date as 15/05/2020, then you have to pay 21000 from this month. that means for another 9 years I've to pay 1800extra per month.

I'm planning to take this to RBI. Will update the status soon.
