[Resolved] Caravan Packers & Movers — Damage of my Household articles during transit | |
I have moved my household articles from Delhi to Mumbai vide M/s Caravan Packers & Movers (Consignment No. 492169). However, they have mishandled the delicate items like TV, CPU (Computer) etc and my CPU and TV have been totally damaged by them due to bad packing and mishandling by them during the transit. The articles from my Delhi residence were packed and despatched on 2nd March, 2008 and were received at my Navi Mumbai residence(destination) on 08th March, 2008. However, while unpacking the goods at my house, it was found that the Carton No. 2 of my consignment containing a Desktop CPU was found in a broken state and was in an unserviceable condition.I had writen a note on their copy (drivers' copy) and it was jointly signed by me and their representative (Mr. Gopal). The insurance amount declared by me for the above article was Rs. 10, 000/- (Ten thousand only) I spoke to the concerned officer of their Mumbai office (Mr. Mishra) about the same and he insisted me to make the full payment. He also assured me that he will do the needful in claiming my compensation from the insurance agency fixed by their company for the transit.I made the payment considering my respect and trust for their organisation. However, I feel extremely sorry to inform that till now, I didn't get any calls from their office while I expected their person to atleast give me a courtesy call. I have wasted a lot of my money for making phone calls to their office everyday when they assured me that they are extremely sorry for the delay and they would definitely come to me personally and do the needful. But nobody eventually didn't turn up as usual. Since that day, I have stopped calling him on his phone. I just thought of sharing my experiences to enable everybody to think twice before selecting this agency. Was this information helpful? | |

Sir,Sub: Demand for our Consignment.
Ref: Consignment Note No: 14493/ Dated 12/09/08
With reference to the above, we state that we handed over our household consignment to you on 12th September 2008 vide above cited consignment Note No. Now it is 1 month over, you have not delivered the consignment as committed by you. I have been contacting Mr. Muralidaran (Delhi branch), your staff, for the past 21 days. When we spoke with him, he replied that it will be delivered soon within 2 days or will call back within 30 minutes. This is the answer we are getting back from him for the past 1 month. Further, we have contacted your Kolathur office staff Mr. Ravi, he also gave the same reply. But till this hour, we have not received our consignment. If we are not getting our consignment within 24 hours of this letter, we are force to seek appropriate court to get our consignment. We give minimum 3 days to reply/deliver to our claim.

I have had a very bad experince with Caravan's. They have not given me the service that i was promised.
First and the foremost, they upset me by delaying the delivery and then once the vehicle arrived. they asked me to do full payment after which they will unload. Taking advice from the agent to whom we had given the contract that if any of the goods are damaged, they would get it fixed or payed, I did the payment. After all the goods were unloaded, i found that most of them were damaged.
I have called the agent a 100times, even after 3months nothing has happened, no one has called or no one has come to fix it.
I would strongly recommend others not to fall for this cheap, uneducated and unprofessional service.
There are service providers far better than CARAVAN.

TRANSIT SERVICES — shifting my household articles
My company is a regular customer of TRANSIT SERVICES. i was satisfied with their work, but last weak when i was shifted my house hold articles from coimbatore to chennai ( Docket No:TN tnt 055).When their executive visited my coimbatore house i requiested for Packing, transportation, loading, unloading at 2nd floor. as per my requirement they did so, after me unpacking my goods i was happy my goods are safe at the same time i was unhappy with the materials which i unpacked was more and i was struggling to dispose in this metropolitan city (bit happy bcoz i got nice percentage of amount while selling the waste) Plese kindly give proper instructions to the customers as you are giving details about advantages likewise disadvantages also so that i would have prefered unpacking also and would have not suffered so.Regards,

Anjana Movers and Packers — Damaged and late delivery
I had moved my car, TV, Cobe cotton box of clothes and one suitcase from hyderabad to bangalore on 15/03/09 through Anjana Movers and Packers. They promised me to deliver the car by a week and other materials by maximum 3 daysPrakash, Ravinder jain had collected the items from my home
The car reached bangalore within 3 days and he didnt deliver me till sunday ie 21/03/09 as there was some financial issues among them
Every day he was calling me and promising me to deliver on that day and didnt and the person who took the delivery and responsiblity(prakash) didnt pick the call till Monday 21/03/09
When i told them i will complaint the police Ravinder jain spoke rashly go and complaint " will the police deliver you your items"
Now i have got my car but my other items reached me on Monday 21/03/09 but the TV is fully damaged
I have called Prakash and informed him, I am not sure what action they are going to take
I am very upset with the service . I really want to make a comlaint and would expect the reimbursement for my damage from the courier company

The service of Caravan packer is really worst ever I have experienced. Not only that the concerned person will not respond you once you pay him the charges. It happened with me also.

I wish I would have seen these comments before handing over my household goods to these bunch of...I got the household goods after 10 days (Commitment of 7 days). I am sitting on 18th day from the Bilty date but there are no signs of me getting the vehicle. The asked the entire payment in advance which I disagreed to pay and now they threatened me hold my vehicles till the time I won't come to their office and make the entire payment without getting the delivery.
Its bunch of Jokers sitting at office and showing attitude. I am going to file a legal suite against them.Please let me know in case if anybody has got the consumer court contact details.

The experience shared is exactly correct. Basically I believe Carvan is not a packer & movers but it is just a gang of person who lures you to book your luggage, takes full transportation charge, damages your items on the way, assures you to respect your damage claim and never respond your call in future.
I will never advise anybody to book their household luggage with M/s Carvan. I had a harrowing experience with this company.

He comitted us to give better service for transfering my house hold things internally inside the bangalore form E-city to Tavarekere. He comitted to provide the closed container with 18feet height to transfering the goods and took the advance payment. Later when the day comes to transfer the good that bloody cheater "Ranjan Singh" who represents the marketing head for Caravan packers and mover sent the normal lorry with open luggage carrier. When I asked him about the commitment he ignored abt the commitment and told we never give closed container for local shifting.
What a shameful treatment from "CARAVAN PACKERS and MOVERS".

I transfer my house hold goods from pune to hyderabad.
They damaged my TV, washing machine.
I paid them 4000 for the insurance but they are not even listening and not even processing insurance claim.
They didn't take the insurance but cheated me by taking insurance money.
So never go for them.
There is Sanjay Singh ([protected]) from hyderabad branch but he is not even picking up the fone. this is shame for carvan. You can speak him and get to know his behaviour he is very nice untill you pay him.

Santiago Sofa — Damage in Transit while Installation
It has been informed to Bigbazar regarding the damage of the relevant product soon after the installation. But there was no proper response by the executive after several reminders also as the telelephone lines are also answere so we had to go to Bigbazar for the reminders. Then suddenly the concern person was been transfered.Now again after lodging the compaint it is being told the executive will come for inspection but till date no one has turned up.
Your proper response would be appreciated or this may lead to consumer court as the matter is pending from 24-dec-08

The overall experience was very bad. They delay my luggage by 10 days and all cartons were in damaged state. The luggage was scattered in the lorry. Overall Karavan don’t seem to a professional movers and packers. I will not use Karavan in future.
I also used "CARAVAN PACKERS and MOVERS" for my relocation from Hyderabad to Ghaziabad (U.P).

Shiftinf of House hold items — Not responding for claim the damage
I have shifted my house hold items from Boisar (Maharashtra) to Bangalore on 25/08/09.My consignment number is 5994, As per the discussion with Mr.D.S.Poonia, marketing executive, Navi mumbai, told that the consignment will take only three days and committed we won't change the lorry in the meddile, based on the commitment I have received the Quotation, based on that I have sent my House hold items.
But I have received the consignment after 5 days with damaged some of the items with another lorry.
This damage regarding I have spoken to bangalore office and Mr.Poonia also. The bangalore office people is telling that you send the letter with damaged details, but I have written all the details and hand over to the unloading suprvisor. I have paid the insurence for the house hold items for claim, if any thing damage during transport.
Please intimate to the concern people to take necessary action and don't corrupt your company image.
I am working in reputern company HO in mumbai. If I inform to my company corporate regarding this issue, definitly they won't allow to shift with professional packers & movers, accordingly they will instruct all marketing and manufacturin units.
Please take it as serious and do needful.

I have fully agree with you. but sometimes its happens. Now you try the Air India Packers and Movers if you need to shift your house hold and any kind of relocating. Air India Packers and movers are in many cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad office of Caravan Movers and Packers has ruined the engine of my maruti 800 car. The staff stole the petrol and -- hold your breath -- the coolant from the engine, and they took the car for a joy ride (while they kept lying to me for four days that the car has not arrived from Delhi). During these four days, they kept the car with them and abused it heavily. As a result, the engine parts, especially the head, overheated without coolant and melted.
This they did deliberately to teach me a lesson because I complained to their head office about the staff charging Rs 2000 extra over and above the bill for transferring my other household goods. The staff is abusive and the Hyderabad manager, one Sanjay Singh, has the habit of disconneting the phone midway through the conversation.
Maruti service center has now given me a bill of Rs 40, 000 to get the entire engine block replaced. I am creating a blog about this horror story. I have send their MD a legal notice to recover the damage and am filing a court case against them through my lawyer.
I can only say that this company is an example of "Andher Company, Chaupat Lala."
