Delay in delivery

We had shipped a consignment from Bangalore to Chennai on 25th Nov 2010 (Thursday). It was promised that the delivery would be done @ Chennai on Saturday (26th Nov 2010). We called the Chennai Packers and Movers on Sunday ( no calls from them regarding the delay). We were informed that, they had lost the consignment papers and the delivery would be done on Monday. No clear information from their office. What we get is irresponsible answers like..."Dont call on this number". They simply hang off the phone while we are talking. One guy asks "What are we going to do with your consignment? There is no vehicle available. We will send it once vehicle is available." It has been 5 days since the consignment has been shipped and still we have not got it delivered. Is there any other place, where I can proceed on taking action towards these guys. We are highly irritated.

I have dispatched the household goods from Chennai to Hyderabad on 19th May, Tuesday (LR No.16584) and was assured that the goods will be reach Hyderabad and will be delivered to me the very next day. Though it didn’t reach on Wednesday, at least I would have expected them reach me by at least Thursday, which would have been reasonable. But the answer is no again. When I checked with the Hyderabad office they don’t have any clue regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle. When I checked with the Chennai office, they simply say, “Driver doesn’t have a mobile number; so we can’t track where he is now. We’ll come to know only when he calls us”. What an irresponsible answer this is !! I’m shocked to see this kind of response and service. Trusting their words, I have brought my family to Hyderabad now and they are now staying here in a vacant house !!

I am having the same problem. I ve sent my household goods to Coonoor from Chennai through the same movers and packers and till date has not reached Coonoor. They have given me the same reasons.Have been going around in circles. They have promised to deliver the same by 10 am tomorrow dated 4th June 2009. If it doesn't reach, i will be filing a case against them. I hope it has some effect on them. It is really frustrating nd disappointing.
