[Resolved] Citibank Na, India — Lowering of my credit limit and rating without any information since 18 months | |||
Due to my bad performance for four months (July - Oct 2008), my two credit cards' limits were lowered from Rs 1,88,000.00 to Rs 30,000.00 w.e.f 1st March 2009. Priorto that, my benefits points were reduced by 25% (1point = Rs 150 against 1point = Rs 125 earlier) w.e.f 1st March 2007; my credit limit was raised four times between Sept 2004 - Jan 2008 after RBI intervention - otherwise, they asked for my Form 16 and pay slips to raise my credit limits inspite of no such prevalent rules just due to " internal rules". They confirmed to me in writing in 2006 that they would stop sending promotional emails - the same is continuing in a new unique way - the incoming promotional emails appear for some days in my email address and then self-delete and disappear permanently. All this has put me to a great mental pain and agony which cannot be quantified in money terms. I request an inquiry and a compensation of Rs 1.50 lacs from Citibank for all this anti-consumer approach. I may state here that Citibank operates in India through a Head Office in Chennai and branch offices in only major cities (mainly metros - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, BAngalore, Hyderabad and some other cities).
