[Resolved]  compaq presario v3000 — problem is not getting solved for no display.

I have compaq presario v3000 having service pack v3155au suffering from no display since last three months.
I have gone to ur service station five times but still my problem is not getting solved.Every time i go they will replace some part n tell now it is ok but within few days the problem reoccurs.i have got motherboard changed once in your hp service station n so many times got formated but now also i have got same problem again. This time also they are replacing the motherboard but how many times do i have to get it changed.
Now i am fad up of your laptop as i have to give my post graduation exams after three months n i m reading on net but due to the above problems i m not able to read because every tenth day problem comes back.
So this time i want clear result or else i dont want your product n plz if it is due to amd processor and its heat in the indian conditions then plz dont introduce such products in india.
I am waiting for a good reply from your side with clear conclusion as i have heard about your hp service...

same wid mine..i bought compaqv3000 n soon after the warranty periiod dat silly comp. started giving me problems...same like u all the LED lights glown dvd riter seems to working everything is fine except dat there is no display on the screen...i had been to the service centre n dey replaced ma M-board n soon after a week same problem again i took it to the service centre dey again replaced ma M-board..all for free of cost cuz what dey say is dat ven dis damn V series was released der was some problem wid the M-board...so deyr replacing ma mother-board everytime i go der...now its 3rd time..same problem yaar...hell wid dis lappy and its compaq...im an architect n all ma works r in lappy n dis damn thing hesitate to show display..i even tried connecting to an external monitor but it didnt work out...now im screwed big time...all ma work is lost n i had big trouble doin all ma work again...i hate dis bloody compaq...
OK I am not a techie at all but I know what worked for me when my COMPAQ Presario V3000, purchased new in Singapore in early 2008, wouldn't start up today. All I got was the blue on/off and other top row lights (volume control, etc) and internal sounds from the fan and the hard drive (I assume). With the power off I held down the ctrl, windows flag and alt key and then with my right big toe I held down the power key... a little jiggling of all held keys (and saying abracadbra very fast, first forwards and then backwards)... and she booted up.
True story... except I first called my wife, who lives in a different country, who experienced the same problem on her laptop and still does, identical model but 1-2 years older. Over a period of months she had run through all the permutations of key strokes, fingers and toes, baking in the oven and cooling in the refrigerator with her good friend Mr. Terry Doe of Langkawi Island, Malaysia to crack the code.
I have noticed over the past few months that the little devil has been running pretty hot. Then this weekend I travelled third class or worse on a 12 hour overnight train ride to Beijing with my laptop in my suitcase. If my computer was any more uncomfortable than I was in my "hard sleeper" berth I am surprised it has been resucitated at all! No doubt the source of the problem is an internal connection that has worked loose through heat and physical stress. But how the keystroke combination acts like a debifrilator I will leave to the techies to figure out.

I am Hong Kong User of HP presario v3000, I am also suffering from "Black Screen" display ploblem. Although this problem already recognise, but they still ignore this obviously problem. That's the HP customer service attitude.

Let's look how they handle complaint.

Thank you for your recent feedback to hp. We apologized for any inconvenience that it has caused you and would like to update you the details of your case.

We’ve reviewed your case history and found that the notebook main board needs to be replaced. As your notebook warranty period has been expired, we are sorry that we are unable to replace it at no charge and need to send you a quote for acceptance in an amount of HKD 3, 4xx. However, we could best offer 30% discount on the repair, i.e. HKD24xx. for the whole repair. Please confirm latest by 13th November, 09.

In regards to your concern on the NVIDIA chipset issue, we have Corporate guidelines and instructions to identify the corresponding model and would have a scheduled warranty extension service arrangement. For your model, we have senior engineers to perform complete checking but found it is beyond the product list. Therefore, we need to emphasize that this model Presario V3809TX Notebook PC is not in the product list of warranty service extension program.

Thanks again for your valuable feedback and we would much appreciate for your re consideration on the repair.

Regarding your explaination of my notebook defect, I am totally un-acceptable at this moment. First of all I need to explaint my notebook current status as below;

1) My notebook can start without problem within around first 10-mins (of course cool down for a night)

2) After that it become unstable, display garble and then "Black Screen" and sometimes wireless device malfuntion (wireless indicator turn red)

3) If I turn-off and turn-on again, sometimes "black screen" still appear. (but the system seems still running as I still hear the windows starting sound)

Base on the above symptom, I do believe the problem is causing by the "Nvidia graphics defect an issue since November 2007". But up to now I still not experience U are taking action to slove the problem, even the last time I bring the notebook to your service centre and pay U ask for repair service(bios upgrade to reduce affected by this issue is also perform by myself). Please stand on my point what do U feel?

"I am experiencing one of the symptoms, but my product number is not listed. Is there any possibility that my notebook PC has the same issue?

To date, the only products affected are listed in Step 1 of this document. If you continue to experience symptoms with your notebook PC please contact your HP in country support center."

Base on above statment, I beleive there still have some product model under this problem. Otherwise your company don't need to state such announcement.

This problem I also directly contact your "Cheung Sha Wan" service centre staff Ms Doxxx Chxx and totaly reflect my concern. I don't feel she is working for the customer just repeat saying that "Sorry, your model is not under our (HP limited Warranty Service Enhancement) of this issue, I can't take any action even I can't collect your notebook to take further action"

It's really disappoint for your "Customer Service".

Of course I will still to collecting evidence on this matter, and I hope U can take "seriously concern" on this matter.

Surat Citizens' Council Trust, Surat have received complaints from the customers of HP and Sony Laptop Computer machines that the machines started giving complaint from the very beginning. The vendors' response is far from satisfactory and Sony vendor have the courage to issue a bill of Rs. 17, 000 to the customer for repairing /replacing the screen.

The customers and companies/vendors should always bear in mind that the customer is paying money for fresh brand new standard/1st quality machine and he/she is not buying sub-standard machine. Therefore, it is a matter of Value for Money not any charity from the manufacturers/vendors at all.

When the customer is not satisfied with the performance of the product (any type), he/she must not wait any longer, nor should they take the spoken word of the vendors in trust, as in India, there may be small percentage of vendors who would like to take back the machine and take the trouble to put up the case with the company and serve the customer. But in the long run, word of mouth will be around and their custom will suffer.

If this is read by any company representatives, please do not be selfish, but be customer centric and win their trust so that they propagate good points of your products and recommend it rather than the opposite.

Every customer must remember that there is Consumer Protection Forums and he must take immediate action, instead of waiting. It is in their own self interest.

HP Compaq — new laptop is not give performance

Hi all fellow friends out here!!!
I am a Hardware Technician put up in Chennai...
The Display issue is actually with the NVIDIA Graphics Chip and not the Processor (AMD or Intel)
Actually, the NVIDIA BGA(Ball grid Array) chip runs hot and the solder joints becomes loose..
This leads to display corruption...

The solution we do is, we reheat the chip (Will burn or spoil if not done properly) so that the solder joints are reconditioned. But this is only a temporary solution.. The chip will heat again and cause the issue again!!

My note to HP...
*A company shouldn't let out a problematic laptop just like that...
*Being realized the problem, u should take necessary steps such as recalling or refunding...
*Myself being a technical Advisor, will never advice a HP Laptop anymore, sick n tired of seeing the pitiful HP customers
*Please employ quality and trustworthy people @ your service centers.

Poor battery performance, Producing heavy Heat, Adapter not at all Charging, RAM speed is not like a 4GB very slow. I have Complain this to my nearest Service Center but they are not Respecting. I have Plain to PURCHASE another TWO more Laptops but if it is like this means how can purchase.. . ?
I had got the Compaq (F series)- HP laptop from USA, and using in India, after a few months my laptop display was not working. when i switch on my laptop it get started and in a few seconds it get off, and it again gets on and it gets off. I checked my system for the entire day, result is the same. I really fed up with this type of problem. I really shocked like the local manufacturers of laptops are working properly and there service is also too good. when we r buying a branded product and not getting satisfaction in terms of service or the life of the product, its no meaning to go for a branded product like this.

I bought compaq presario v3000 on 2008 in SINGAPORE.
after one year, year 2009 the problem occur in my laptop.
It could not boot even to BIOS,
the screen was blank, but the LED is lighted,
HDD and DVD drive is working .
The warranty is expired.~

Since there are a lot of similar problem i found on the internet,
I found out most of the victims with v3000 face some problem after 1 year warranty expired...

I just gonna say BYE BYE to HP that i was once love it.
Wont by hp products anymore.~!!!

Hewlett Packard/Compaq — Unscrupulous Service

This is in regard to complaint no. [protected](registered over a month back) , I am using the laptop model no. Compaq 6710b since the past two and half years & from past 4 month I am facing problems. Despite of regularly reporting the same with your service representative and registering complains, the issue has not been resolved . I am disappointed to face all this heartburn from a brand like HP that has been into the market for this long and promises good quality products & services to its customers. Your reps. Haven’t been able to resolve my problem and also have been misguiding me by stating all sorts of errors instead to identifying the exact problem & hence resolving it. This just shows the inefficient service and people associated with you . With such kind of casual attitude in complaint handling is restricting me to further buy any of your products and recommending the same to others.

Post complaining the above said complaint several times with Axis Computech (Authorised Service Centre for HP), no permanent resolution received yet.

Pl. be sensitized to revert with a permanent sollution for the stated problem to avoid future legal implications.
