[Resolved]  Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited — Customer Name in CIBIL Defaulter List inspite of having settled all dues.

Myself & my husband had applied for a home loan recently.

We were shocked to hear from the Banks (Standard Chartered Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Finance, Barclays Bank & Citibank) that both of our names are listed in the Defaulter List of CIBIL.

We have paid and settled all our dues till date and have the settlement letters from the concerned financial Institutions & Bank on their letter head that the full & final settlement has been done and there are no dues pending from our end.

We do not know which Financial Institution has reported our name in the defaulter list.

This is utmost unfair for a customer who is sincere and has settled all the dues and has never defaulted in any way.

We have never received any information from CIBIL asking for a confirmation if the name of a customer is listed in defaulter list whether is it correct?

We seek justice to get our names removed from the defaulter list with an immediate effect. We are ready to give all the proof and settlement letters issued by the concerned Financial Institutions provioded we are given the details of the same.

Please help us.

Looking forward to a suitable action at the earliest form your end.

Regards

Sir,

I have recently settled a credit card payment of HSBC for Rs. 9000/- in one shot. My name came in defaulter list and name might have been published by HSBC. Thereafter, this Oct I have applied for loan from AXIS, BARKLAY, HDFC, but they have rejected my case due to negative opinion from 'CREDIT MANAGER'. This i came to know that on the basis of recommendation of "Credit Manager", the bank approves loan amount to a customer. I have been regularly paying loan to HDFC, ICICI. The 22 instalments were cleared out of total 36 EMIs. I am shocked. How I am a defaulter, when settled HSBC credit card and cheque cleared on receipt of settlement letter during Aug 2008.

Please clarify.

Dear Sir/Madam:

I was holding an HSBC Credit Card and in the last of 2007, they started sending inflated bills, which I never used. I had canceled the card saying that their billing is inappropriate and thus I would like to cancel the card.

They reverted back to me on phone saying they are sorry for all this, and they requested me to take a fresh card (with the same number)from them. Though I initially said I will be taking the card, but I did not do that.

Recently I was trying for a personal loan from ICICI and was shocked to find that my name is there in the Defaulter List of Credit Information Bureau.

Please advise.

Thanking you,

I was offered Medcial Insurance by M/S Standard chartered Bank on my credit card thru. their sister concern M/s Royal Sundaram. Unfortunately Policy was never delivered to me and SCB started shying away from me. On suggestion, I aaproached Royal Sundaram, Chennai. However they refused to entertain me as my name was not there in their list. After so many mail and telephonic follow-ups with SCB and me visiting Lower Parel office, I was shown the confirmation mail from Royal Sundaram regarding reversal of charges and credit to SCB. I was shown the SCB database, having outstanding as Rs. 800/-. I was asked to wait for final statement. One year later, I was offerred to settle the account by paying Rs. 862/-, which I paid in cash with receipt issue to me. I was surprised to note that my name has been put in CIBIL list by Standard chartered Bank for Credit card default. I want to settle it out legally. Could anybody please suggest me how to proceed. I have all the documentary proof to support my claim.

I was having cards during 1998 to 2000. I have settled all the three based on the settlement letter issued by STANDARD CHARTER BANK, after final payment of the letter value.

But when ever I apply for any loan it is rejected saying that CIBIL is not approving. What is this, even this I come to know only when I asked for the reasons. If CIBIL is the agent for check, you should have all the correct information to comment on somebody for whom bank gives you information even after the settlement is over. If they feel that what amount collected is less then the expected, then the bank should not encourage settlements. I think CIBIL is doing a wrong job just giving information on other banks information. .

Please reply.

I have settled a credit card payment of HSBC for Rs. 6000/- dated 13 Dec 2006. My name is still in defaulter list published by HSBC.

The worst part is that no ones knows in customer service dept of HSBC about CIBIL defaulter list. According to them its Collection Dept JOB, and according to Collection dept its Agency Dept who looks after Cibil defaulter list. Collection department provided 18 nos all of them which are wrong or does not exits[protected]/5687/6115/5682/5639/ ect.

Request to remove my name or else suggest me where I can approach to make my name removed.
