[Resolved]  Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited — Customer Name in CIBIL Defaulter List inspite of having settled all dues.

Myself & my husband had applied for a home loan recently.

We were shocked to hear from the Banks (Standard Chartered Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Finance, Barclays Bank & Citibank) that both of our names are listed in the Defaulter List of CIBIL.

We have paid and settled all our dues till date and have the settlement letters from the concerned financial Institutions & Bank on their letter head that the full & final settlement has been done and there are no dues pending from our end.

We do not know which Financial Institution has reported our name in the defaulter list.

This is utmost unfair for a customer who is sincere and has settled all the dues and has never defaulted in any way.

We have never received any information from CIBIL asking for a confirmation if the name of a customer is listed in defaulter list whether is it correct?

We seek justice to get our names removed from the defaulter list with an immediate effect.We are ready to give all the proof and settlement letters issued by the concerned Financial Institutions provioded we are given the details of the same.

Please help us.

(1) There are thousands of Complaints from Individuals regarding false reporting in the Cibil report.
(2) Defaulter borrowers through names of Pvt Ltd Co., Ltd Co., Firms are too much huge amounts but they are always free to get fresh loans by creating fresh name, Pan card etc.
(3) Collection of Personal Information and its sharing with many Institutions should be treated as a serious offence. Why there are not such lists of Ministers, big fraud makers, Politisians, Don and terrorists etc. Small borrowers has never given you consent to collect his/her personal information in this way. (4) Before collecting and sharing personal info the Govtt of India should give 10 years advance Public Notice.
Any individual or proprietor, partner of company can avail own Credit Rating information whenever he/she likes.

Hi Abhilash,

Best u can do is take PL of 95, 000 from any bank and pay your credit card dues and pay the PL amount in EMIs. Close it as early as possible bcoz you are wasting your money in minimum amount payment.
I have taken a consumer loan from citi financial three years back.
I gave pdc's to citi financial for EMI's. one or two emi's cleared from my bank. But suddenly I got a call from citi financial that my third emi cheque bounced.I checked from bank but got confirmation that there is no cheque hit my account since last month.

After some time I came to know that my banker entered my cheque book in wrong account. that was the reason of bouncing the cheques. my banker gave me appology letter in this regard, and accept that bouncing was due to banker mistake not becouse of customer.

After this episode I visited to citi financial and get settled my account and got NOC.

Now when I applied for vehical loan I came to know that my name is in CBIL defaulter list. in this connection I wrote to cibil and citi financial, but no result.

please suggest me is there any wayout to get ride off this problem.

I had settled two banks credit card one is ICICI & another is HSBC.
As per CIBIL suggestion I had contact ICICI bank & HSBC bank for the no dues letter. After a long period they have send me through mail & by courier. Shall I send to CIBIL through mail for updating scoring?

Bank executive told me that except CIBIL no one change CIBIL score or update. In this case they send me no dues letter for forwarding CIBIL office.

I want to apply Personal loan for my dad operation urgently but none of the bank give me personal loan because of my CIBIL record, I mean I have settled credit card account that’s why.

So can I send No dues letter to CIBIL for updating my score.

As you see when a Consumer make a default or due to his situation settles a card or loan. The banks put those up in CIBIL and reduce it credit worthiness. On the same lines there should be system to penalise banks for making mistakes like Harashing people, overcharging, giving wrong information about CIBIL, updating of CIBIL of wrong consumers. Banks has to be penalised like preventing it from operating for certain period or provide loans to consumers are a very low rate or for every mistake they make they need to help a bad credit customer to rebuild his credit or totally cancel their banking licenses.

I think this is not a Fair practice of just penalising consumers of not paying on time, even banks need to get penalised for Bad conduct, bad business practices etc.

Somebody should take this up.

Please read it as as CRAP Information Bureau Of India rather reading it wrongly CREDIT information bureau of india.
I have seen several cases like this infact what cibil-dummy will do they will log fasle complaints from the banks for the credits made by customers.It's all banks BAD, there will be a settlement for those who have bills pending for 60k they settle it to 20k, even many escape the bills to pay. Finally whome banks need to catch to fullfill the losses the common, innocent, regular payers, those who has the cards but never uses it for years. I know banks will say u have to pay minimum commision per year on the cards, even though u never use it.
I have the same common man story, i have nver used any card, used one but payed online on the same day of purchase.But i came to know that i have a overdue 0f 18k from two unknown cards(got report from cibil after following the process as per cibil.com but thier is no cards issuer name so i am wondering whome i need to pay even i have not used any card.
Cibil i am still ready to pay the illegal amount forced on me... but please ..please tell me to which bank i need to pay the amount, dont collect the CRAPS collect the proper information which help consumers.

Now ICICI Bank still raising unnecessary bill and levied interest on it.

Hello,

i was having hsbc credit card in which i made some delay for the payments but i settled the full amount after that the card is expired so not in use. but recently i applied for hdfc credit card and found that due to some reason they are unable to provide the card and when i confirmed they told that i am in defaulter list the thing is that if anyone is reporting for something if customer is paying the all the dues so after getting the full money the can request to remove our name from the list. it is not the correct process in which you raise the name and after getting the money you dont care about the person. all in all you got the money and customer got the defaulter label.

Please anyone can help to provide the steps to get over from this defaulter list situation.
