[Resolved] Dell Inspiron 1420 — Defective NVIDIA Graphic Card | |||
Hi, I have DELL Inspiron 1420 with the defective NVIDIA graphic card 8400. The good news is that Dell have acknowledged the defect in your laptop and that can be found here:- http://nvidiasettlement.com/pdfs/NVF_NOT.pdf I purchased on Aug 26th 2008. It failed on April 21st 2011. Not When I called Dell customer care, they are telling that they cant replace it.. But DELL has supplied defective card, at least they should inform us with mails or phone. They dint do anything and now when I ask, they are not providing the right help. Dell Inspiron 1420 — Bad Response from Service Center
This is extremely pathetic that Dell a major hardware appliance assembler is not capable of handling simple complaints. I recently had an issue where my laptop was not charging and I asked the Dell center to send me a technical representative to figure out what the issue is. This person who I believe was a student learning hardware did not find out what the issue was and left the place telling me to sign his visit sheet (which I should not have. Do not sign this unless you are satisfied!!!) and told me that he would send another technical representative. After that not a word from Dell till I give them a call. To make a long story short I talked with the following people for extremely long periods of time without any feedback:1] Ranjana

They told me that there would be no refund on the technical support guy as well as no adapters (which I diagnosed as the issue) unless I purchase a warantee. This is nothing but daylight robbery as they will not go forward unless I go ahead and do everythin they (people @ Dell) say. Somebody has to look into this issue ASAP.
I have had the same problem with my Dell inspiron 1420. It was not until a couple of days ago that i stumbled on a post which made me aware of the defective nvidia chips shipped by Dell.
This by no means should be acceptable. My system went down 2 years after i bought it. This was bound to happen sooner or later given the defective Card and all the overheating!
I will be pursuing this case strongly. People tend to get away rather too easily in India with such incidents!
People have managed to get their motherboards replaced.

Dell India — Dell 2 tb hard diak not working.
Recently bought Dell 2tb hard disk. It was working fine till a few days back. But now whenever I plug it into the laptop the laptop doesn't recognize it and doesn't displays it's icon. As a reault I am not able to access the contents of it.my os is corrupt dell company r not support
my os is corrupt then orignal dvd are avalable but company are nott support me .to reinstall windows 8 . they can not creatmy product key.26%

DELL INSPIRON 1420 — No customer and product service.
I have a dell 1420 inspiron. My Laptop got some problem in its motherboard or hard disk.I called to customer support she connect me to its Technical person.
He performs all tests by me. He tell me to open the Laptop, I ask him if there come some fault on opening the laptop who is responsible for this then the person say we are not responsible for this.
After the he conclude your hard disk is crash but my engineer come check it again and charged for 1261 rupees.
That time my laptop is in warranty period.
I say never buy Dell products.
