[Resolved]  Dell Inspiron 1525 — Plugged in, not charging

Yes, like everyone else, i was dupped by the dell (Yet again) i was not happy with my desk top from a few years back and i should have not repeated the same mistake, ordering from dell again! So, i am partially to blame! But i was in a bind and had to purchase a laptop fast and didn't have neither the time nor the resources to consider another alternative (Or at least a little more educated before making a costly commitment like this)!
Anyway, the problem with this "expensive piece of junk" is what plenty other people have noted: right after i ran out of warranty, the battery (Which was noit fully charging before) depleated to 85% (Even plugged in) and from 85 to 50% and soon after i am looking at 29% and it is going down 1% everyday. Again, please bare in mind that the computer is always plugged in and never on without external power.
I am so concerned and don't know what to do, as i have heard the replacement batteris are mostly refurbished and do the same thing after couple of months! So, that means even if i buy another battery, there is no guarantee that is going to last me any more than couple of months. Plus with today's economy, i can not effort buying a "new" batthery and pay for installation and check run, etc.. Etc.
So, please take this as a complain, from a very frustrated dell consumer or venting and my little way of expressing my huge disappointment with dell (With their hurrible india -based customer support) and if nothing can be done about my problem, at least someone could be saved from making the biggest mistake of their life: buying a dell notebook! Or dell of anykind!

I also have an Espirion 1525 with a battery problem. I am also getting the reading "plugged in. Not charging. I switched batteries with my daughters 1525, and it continued to do the same thing. I'm going to do as Jimmy Dean suggested and call Dell about their ongoing motherboard problem.

I will post when I get an answer.

Dell Studio Xps 13. 3'' — delay in delivery

sir I am rajesh soni.
I am student of CUSAT.
Sir i had buy a laptop in march 2008 but that laptop was not working properly and there was problem of system freezing and other.sir i had paid 63,000Rs(service tag nos 7XM33BS) for it.
finally that problem was not rectified and company had agreed to replace my laptop.company person said me that i will get new laptop within 3 weeks.
But till now(after spending more than 9 weeks) i had not got my new laptop.
whenever i used to contact DELL TEAM they just forward my call to costumer care department and costumer care forward my call to technical support and then just keep this process many times.
Finally i just come to you in search of HELP.
sir as i am student i had to do lot of works on my laptop so please help me.

Dell treats the customers like hell where people mostly yell. Because all they want to solve over phone and are always reluctant to send their engineer. The reason behind this is that they do not provide after sales service directly. Dell is using either WIPRO or TVS-E etc services which are on hire basis.Dell simply dumps their defective products in India. So I would rather prefer to buy Wipro or HCL Note Books who have their own service establishments. Why buy Dell looking at the datas of their US sales. US people have the capacity to use & through such products but in India, people want complete worth of a product with durability.
DELL SMELLS HELL& SWELL THE OWNER WHICH IS TRUE. IT"S HIGH TIME NOW TO RING THE BELL FOR THE FUTURE BUYERS IN INDIA. IF A PERSON WANT's TO COMPLAIN UNDER WARRANTY PERIOD OVER PHONE HAVING THEIR GOLD TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICE, IT TAKES ATLEAST 30-45 MINUTES TO ATTEND THE CALL BY THEM. THEN IT TAKES LONG HOURS TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, THAT TOO INVAIN. NOW JUST IMAGINE THE SITUATION OF PEOPLE HAVING A NORMAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICE. I THINK THE WHOLE WARRANTY PERIOD WILL LAPSE OVER PHONE ONLY.

Dell India And M / S Hike Developers — Reg Non Delivery of laptop.

M/s Hike Developers was one of the dell sales agent of shimla and it was registered and the owner of the company is Satish Pal,

I ordered him a laptop on 18th of august and paid rs 36343. against the signed performa invoice by bank cheque...

Now its 16th of october and no response from dell india as they evading from their responsiblity by saying that they are not liable and they have blacklisted this dell sales agent.

many complaining messages and mails already send to mr. satish and also notified to dell but no response from anyone after 9th of september..

Cash embezzlement and not returning any money and not delivering the laptop
5% available "Plugged in, Not Chargning".

Dell Inspiron 1525 Core W Duo Windows Vista — clock battery

clock runs down- it happened about 2 weeks after the warranty ran out. I had mentioned to dell that the date and time were always wrong- I don't know anything about computers except to look up things and see whats going on in the world. Well, I talked to the dell tech- said it would cost me 50 dollars to talk to a technican about the problem- I had a person at work work on it for me for free- he replaced the clock battery but it still doesnt keep the correct date and time- I constantly go in 5 times a day and change it- I got a response from Dell after I posted to their site- the person said he works for Dell and all I need to do to fix the problem is replace the clock battery- and that it would fix the problem- he was unaware that I had already replaced the battery he was talking about- guess what- I replyed back to him and told him NO- THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND IT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM- NEVER TO HERE FROM HIM AGAIN- THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE MOTHER BOARD - AND THAT WONT HAPPEN UNLESS A CLASS ACTION SUIT IS DONE. EVERYONE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BATTERIES - WHAT ABOUT CLOCK BATTERIES- ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM- WOULD LUV TO HERE FROM U
Same problem as many others, I have bought DELL for nearly 8 years but no more My newest Laptop is only 6 weeks old, New HDD, New Memory, new keyboard and now the battery has gone!!!
Complete junk, rubbish case leaves finger prints and smudges HP for me from now on. I am sick of paying premium rates to phone off shore pigeon English script readers making me undertake endless stupid tests when my laptop is a Norwegian blue parrot.
Have exact same problem with 1501 - Ive always purchased DELL - NO MORE - MY FAITH IS CRUSHED! Have had several problems for over a year, DONT BUY A DELL!!! They have created monsters since 2007
yeppers. i've been a dell customer for over a decade, but not anymore with my most recent dell laptop purchase and inspiron 15". dell has gone downhill and it's time we all took our purchasing power somewhere else. even if dell gets their act together - they're persona non grata in my book. once you rip me off with your excuse laden laptop issues - that's it for me. bye bye dell. oh and btw, i will be purchasing a couple more pc's in the next year and wellll, they won't be dell's anymore. hope you fix your dorkups quickly because there are a lot of ticked off customers that are going to send you into bankruptcy soon enough. but thennn, you asked for it with your inferior quality so i guess you reap what you sow.

Dell Studio 15inch — laptop not working properly

well i have complaint before also but yet there is no response from your side.....i have complaint about my dell studio 15inch laptop which i have bought from singapur and it is under international warrenty...its mouse touchpad buttons are not working properly and some of the keys of keyboard are also not working...i need the laptop very urgrntly for doing my project so plz give a satisfactory response as soon as possible..

I have an latitude d531, and it is not reconising the battery at all. it is only 14 months old.
the keys have gonne loose in the keyboard and the bluetooth has stoped working.
You make your own conclusions, but i still have an old toshiba since 2004 and all is working in there.
What a rip-off and disgrace.
im having the same as others... what dis type of problems happens with the adapters after the expiry date of the warrenty... do they make the adapters that work only for 14 months to 15 months im just frustrate with my Dell Inspiration 1525
