[Resolved]  Direct Hair Implantation - DHI Hair Transplant Institute — HAIR TRANSPLANT IS A SCAM.

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

I have been noticing many adverts of late by this clinic called Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) carrying the before after photos of Virendra Sehwag and some other cricketers as well. I have myself been a sufferer from hair loss since many years and have burnt my fingers and my money at many a so called famous doctors clinic. Subsequently I have done lot of research myself and I have come to the conclusion that there is no 100% cure for hair loss. Treatments do work, but to limited extent and therefore if you are planning to undergo any hair loss treatment anywhere in the world, go ahead, but don’t expect the moon and the stars. When you go with such expectations, then you will be unhappy and end up disappointed. Thus hair transplant like any other hair treatment has limitations. If you are planning to undergo transplant with DHI or any other place, certainly do so, but do it with a careful understanding of its limitations which in my humble opinion are the following.

1. It cannot give you a head full of hair. Use your commonsense. If you have lost even half your hair, it means you have lost nearly 60-70000 hair from your head. The maximum any transplant can do is give you around 7000 to 8000 hair even after repeated sessions. So how can a gap created by around 70k hair, be filled by 7k hair.

2. Transplant basically means taking the hair from some part of the body, usually the back of the head, or from chest, and then placing it on the front or top of head where there are gaps. It DOES NOT mean that it will stop your further hair loss. In fact if anything, most honest surgeons will tell you that after transplant, baldness tends to proceed faster. So what does that mean? It means you still have to take medicines to prevent the other natural hair from falling off. But these crooks in DHI tell us that there is no need for lifelong medicines, as if getting transplant done is like a fun day at the mall. Please ask that sales crook over there that if you don’t do medicines how do you prevent further hair loss? Buy getting fresh transplant done every year? Make those crook even more richer.

3. Fact is that most honest doctors will tell you that you have to take medicines after transplant, which is often some Testosterone blocker like Finasteride and some application medicines on the head which will be something like Minoxidil. While these medicines are very effective, in 5 to 10% cases they have the side effects of things like erection dysfunction, sexual impotency, breast enlargement, allergy of the head etc. Secondly when you stop taking these medicines, the hair fall will become double and even triple.

4. And lastly the most important, transplant is no miracle. After transplant you can still very much look bald. Any honest doctor will tell you that transplant works in as many cases as it fails. It is not magic. The best example is that of Virendra Sehwag himself. This clinic proudly puts up before after pictures of Sehwag, one showing him completely bald and the other one in which he seems to have got a head full of hair. The truth however is something completely else. Inspite of doing transplant for such a big celebrity and probably from their best doctor of the clinic, Sehwag does not seem to have to got more than 10-20% better and nothing more. If you want to see the truth, see the photo I have uploaded on the following links

And for these results this great DHI clinic charges between Rs 3 to 4 lacs. In fact they proudly say on the phone that our minimum charge is Rs 2 lacs and even further add that we give you 100% guarantee of results. Boss, if you are giving guarantee of results then please explain why your own mascot is balding out even more over the last 1-2 years and looks almost as bad as even was before getting the transplant done.

SUCH IS THE TRANSPLANT SCAM.

I agree with you, I had a hair transplant with DHI and didnt like the density I got with the transplant. No I wear a 'hair system' and I am so happy with the looks. Wish I had known about hair system before going for transplant I would have never gotten a hair transplant.

Hi, DHI took around 5 lakhs of money from me but no results. How can I take them in court to get the refund.
