Respected Sir,

This is to bring in to your notice about the situation of Staff and Labor working in D.S Constructions, a company operating in Libya for the past 30 years. I would like to withhold my name as I am aware of the consequence that may arise due to the same.

The recruitment process for the company is done through their Delhi HR office and as per my knowledge they have sub agents in Orissa and West Bengal and Tamilnadu from where mass recruitments have been done for the labors.

The company atmosphere in Libya was terrifying. Labors where provided with common accommodation shared by 15 – 20 people in an attic sort of place. Even the situation of staff is not better. We face problem of attacks by local guys, theft. Further to many complaints company has taken no steps to meet our problems in a suitable manner.

The worst among all these is that there OUR SLARY HAS BEEN PENDING FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS AS OF DATE.As per our contract company pays a major part of our salary in NRI account and a small amount for Local Expense. The salary range of labours is 7500 INR + 25 LYD for local expense and for the staff it ranges from 20,000 to 1.2 lakhs+ 50-300 LYD for local expense. Further to strikes from Workers 3 months ago they have released just 1 month salary. We are suffering in Libya with inadequate salary and amenities.

When we rose the same issue with the management there were harsh feedbacks. The words that came from the Senior Management was below the standards. During the strike they have threatened the Labors with police as well as local guys and suppressed the issue.
Company insist on a 3 month notice for resignation and even after resignation, the sole reason being the financial problem they deduct an amount of 76,000 INR from our salary for the same. When we enquire about the processing they bring out various reasons so as to delay the process. Even after the final exit is made they take no steps to clear out the pending salary neither for staff or labors during final exit. Company will deduct an amount of 25000INR during resignation, but the strange thing is that many of them pay around 50,000- 1, 00,000 during selection for working on a mere salary of 7,500.
This is not the grievance of a single employee, but of multitudes that are working in this company, but are unable to express it being afraid of the consequences.

Considering the seriousness of this situation I kindly request you to take immediate action to bring out this to media and do the necessary at least to process our release without further delay.

the basic fault with this complain is - the location of complain is India and at the end of the complain - address is Swani Libya. It looks like somebody is intentionally tarnishing image of the company - for reasons best known to the writer.

We have heard - there were severe constraints faced by the foreign companies in Libya in the year 2010 - but now things are taking better shape and in line. Hope, Indian Government & embassy should hold a meeting with Libyan Government for safeguarding interest of Indian companies and of course work force.

DSC is blady shit company and hang of DSC company owner, , ... Now he have to pay arround 5000 employes, those who are returned from libya.

Electronic media should involve this case so that dsc employers gets salary.otherwise the owner of dsc never given the salary.please highlighted this case and help this innocent and poor people.

DSC (alias DS Construction, DSC FZCO) has foreign presence in Dubai, Libya, Nigeria, Ghana, etc This is one of the fortunate group which has got decent contracts in Libya and earned a lot of money there but the sad part is that they didn't recognise the efforts of the ppl who have devoted their life and hard work for them working in such a challenging scenarios.This family has understood the Indian labor market very well and taking advantage of that completely. They have also tarnished the image of Indian Companies in emerging countries in western Africa. The Chairman of the group is no more than a cheap thug and has made sure that his 2 sons (one is handling India business and another one Africa Business) also become alike. In the beginning they pay the employee so that the confidene can be built. Their working capital works by paying minimum 1-2 months delay. After some time this delay leads to 6-12 months and the poor employee doesn't understand what to do now, as he has already devoted his 6-12 months and leaving the company will void any hope of getting dues cleared. This is the moment the employee is in their complete control. Now if he don't work as they want, he is fired without clearance of the dues and if he cares about the money pending from Narulas, he'll be one of his slaves. Leave aside senior management whom they promise to pay in 5 figures, they don't even pay the domestic helper or servants a small amount about $500 pm.

They are playing with the laws as the workers are from India and they perform their duties abroad and subsequently sent back to India without clearing dues. Now the question is that in which jurisdiction will these cases will fall and which govt. will take the responsibility to hear the plea of these poor staff members. Hope these kind of promoters should go behind the bars and pay for their wrong doings.
