[Resolved] Exide Batteries — An Inverter Battery Exploded | |
I had used an exide invertor battery which exploded and the company refuses to replace the same nor is it willing to give it in writing. The battery was less than 3 months old. I wish to connect with persons who have had the same fate as me to take the matter to its logical conclusion collectively. The warranty card does not educate the users properly and explicitly and I do not wish anyone to come to harms way since a lot of persons actually keep their invertors and batteries inside their homes. I don't think any company of the size and reputation such as exide should treat their consumers in such a manner.

I had the same problem yesterday. I tried to contact customer care and they said no services are available today. Which mean they don't have enough customer care executive to handle call from customers on Sunday.
My inverter battery is IM1500.
Last evening (may 7, 2017), me and my Mom were taking rest and battery was on charging mode. All of a sudden, we heard a loud sound coming from battery. When we saw what happened, it was shocking. The blast happened inside the battery. There were acid drop all around that area. A lot of toxic smell and acid were coming out of battery. Although, it's summer season. But still a customer doesn't expect this kind of experience from a huge brand. Not only I had to clean up all the mess, but my family is spending time by walking on road because the only backup source is gone. We had to spend significant amount of time without fan or lights.
My battery is still in warranty period.
I'll lodge a complain and I'm sure they'll replace the battery.

Today morning around 530am, excide inverter in my home blasted. Thank God, my mom just went to other room. I need an explanation on this from excide. Your company cannot keep people's lives at stake for your own profits. Lot o[censored]tensils got damaged due to acid from that battery
