[Resolved]  Fair Deal Cars Pvt. Ltd. — Subject: Maruti Swift being stolen – dealer involvement “Fair Deal Cars Pvt. Ltd.”

This letter is to inform you that my car (DL 5C F 2788, MARUTI SWIFT LDI 2008 MODEL) with engine no.D13A1104458 and chassis no. MA3FKEB1S00336887 has been stolen due to the negligence of Fair Deal Cars Pvt. Ltd.

Dear Sir/Madam

This is in reference to above subject matter. As such, I had bought a Swift Car dated 7th August 2008 from Fair Deal Cars Pvt. Ltd with following details:
Model: LDI
Engine Number: D13A1104458
Chasis Number: MA3FKEB1S00336887
Registration Number: DL 5C F 2788

With my second service being due, I had called upon at customer desk for my routine service at the customer service desk number, so provided to me, at [protected] to send across an executive to collect the car from my doorsteps (the same procedure was adopted during my first service also dated 25th August, 2008.

This call was generated on 10th October, 2008 (Friday) on the number so mentioned above and the executive at receiving end informed me that an executive from Fair Deal would visit me shortly at my place and pick the car for the said service on 11th October, 2008. Considering no one turned up for pick up on 11th October, I again called up at above number and requested executive to be send on 12th October, 2008 (being Sunday). The same information was verified to me again and update was provided about an executive coming to pick on 12th October.

On 12th October, 2008, I received a call from a male executive, claiming to be Fair Deal employee, coming to collect the car and asking me to come downstairs. The said calls were generated from local PCO numbers being [protected] and[protected]. Upon coming down, found a mail in Fair Deal uniform, who informed me that he was to collect the car as per my pickup request and the reason for calling from PCO being, his mobile not working the said day. The said executive listened to my complaints and took the car away for servicing purpose.

Considering there was no confirmation call from Fair Deal within the next two hours, I called up the dealer asking for an update and they asked me to wait and that they themselves would be calling back shortly. I received another call after some time, wherein I was informed that the car had not arrived at service station and probably the pick up guy had taken car directly to the showroom and asked me to wait for some more time.

After some time, I received a call from Mr. Daljeet Singh – GM Service – claiming non receipt of car at the service station or showroom itself. Being shocked to hear the news, I rushed to Fair Deal service station to meet Mr. Daljeet Singh, who claimed that he needed some time to conduct an internal investigation within the organization and asked me wait until next morning 1130 hrs, i.e., Monday 13th October, 2008. Helplessly and worriedly, I approached Vasant Vihar police station to lodge an FIR – however the cops instead of lodging an FIR, took a written complaint for the whole incident / episode, the same day itself.

With no update or call coming from Mr. Daljeet from Fair Deal, I re-approached them at the service centre, wherein Mr. Daljeet briefed me by showing an entry register – which highlighted two records for pick up request for Saturday & Sunday but there was missing detail for actual pick up on both the days – stating that both pick ups were not processed and no one was asked to go and collect the car. However, on further prodding, he accepted the fact that somehow the information was leaked from within the organization and that something wrongdoing had taken place.

Until now, my regular visits at Fair Deal have proved to be ineffective and useless with no cooperation or assistance being provided. Resulting in my visiting Vasant Vihar police station again, wherein we met SHO Mr. Chahal, who told us that he has deputed ASI, Mr. Karn Singh to investigate the case – however, there have been no results as of yet.

Of startling was the fact that upon discussion at Fair Deal after such mess up was identified I was constantly advised by representative of Fair Deal to just report an incident of theft and not to go ahead and publish the actual processing that lead to the theft of vehicle itself – such attitude does raise a needle of suspicion pointing towards hands-in-glove nexus of thieves and the executives themselves – a bonafide and intentional malpractice being incorporated and executed.

Henceforth considering the above content and bonafide malpractice so adopted and so witnessed by self due to loss of my vehicle by Maruti authorized dealer – “Fair Deal Cars Pvt. Ltd” – I hereby request you to kindly intervene and assist in speeding up resolution of the issue at earliest. Further, subjected to such malafide intent and subsequent well planned and executed theft so witnessed and discussed as above, action processing in form of legalities under various sections are called for and processed accordingly. Such legalities will definitely bring out clarity in terms of registration and appointment of such dealers by Maruti India Ltd. and such malpractices so adopted by dealers so appointed.

I look forward to action processing from your end as well as release of compensatory package.

I have also called so many times at the customer service department of Maruti but no body is bother and no senior person has talk to me yet. I have still not received any support from Maruti's end. I have been in touch with Maruti's customer service department & keep on chasing them since 16th OCT 2008 and talking to Ms. Rajni[protected] at the customer desk but not getting any response from them till now. As per him Mr. Pikender Kumar will call me back but I am keep on chasing them but till date I have not received any call from them.

Please suggest if this kind of response come from such a reputed organization (Maruti) for a customer then where the customer should go for help. If no further concrete action has been taken from your side then I will have only one option left to knock the door of consumer forum.

With regards,
Ritesh Sharma
