[Resolved]  Godrej Refrigerator — Cooling Problem

I bought my Godrej refreigrator Eon 240 litres around 2 years back. Everything went well for 2 years. Now it started giving me the cooling problem.

I reported the complaint at Godrej Service center in Bangalore on 17th April viz complaint no. [protected]. Service Engineer came to my house and after lots of troubleshooting and 2 hours of diaognising, he came to conclusion that compressor is faulty. He told me that compressor is under warranty and you need to pay for change in Gas and service charge for which net amount apid by you will be around 1300. Service Engineer told me that Compressor does the cooling for 2 mins and stays switched off for 1 mins which is not the normal behaviour. Hence please go ahead with chnaging of the compressor. I said go ahead and repair the refrigerator. There was no response from Godrej and after 3 days I recieved a message that your problem is resolved and complaint is closed.

I raised another complaint to Godrej Service center for not doing cooling by refrigerator on 22nd April with complaint no. [protected]. After calling them several times and persuading them, they came to my house to change the compressor. Compressor was changed on 25th April which took 4 hours with gas filling and everything. Service Engineer demaded Rs.1250 which I paid him. He told that now ice will be made in refrigerator and temprature can go below 0. To my surprise next day I was unable to see any ice in my refrigarator. I called the service Engineer on 26th April and did not got any response from him. Even they went ahead and closed my complaint.

I raised third complaint for my same problem on 25th of April with complaint no. [protected]. Service provider people at HAL didn't bothered to pick up my call even after 100's of trial onto number which I had as [protected] and another mobile number as [protected]. I called them on saturday 28th April aroun 20 times and they informed me that we are busy in meeting and would be sending person in evening. Even in evening they did not responded to my call. After several attempts they told me that executive would be visiting me on Sunday morning. On sunday they did not even attended my call. After so many attempts they said that we'll come on 7th of May. Even 7th May they did not turned out. I called them back on 8th May and did not got any response. On 9th May they said that we'll come but never turned out till evening. On 10th May they came to my house and asked to empty the refrigerator and said that problem is with the freezer. Then he rechecked and after 3 hrs of diagnosis, he came to conclusion that the NEW COMPRESSOR which they replaced is faulty one. I am really fed of these Godrej Service Center people.

Then again they said that we are going to come tomorrow with the new compressor and replace it. I asked then to collect my refrigerator and rectify the problem in it and deliver it back to me. It is none of by business how do you guys fix it.

Now they have to come to my house to collect the refrigerator and I hope they turn out tomorrow. My vegetables and fruits worth Rs.1000 are spoiled due to refrigerator. Even daily the milk is getting spoiled as its Summer in Bangalore. I am really fedup with these Service Center guys.

I would suggest everybody never buy the Godrej refrigerator as they provide the worst service in the world. I am very much disssatified with their service.

I am also one of the victims of Godrej complaints and totally agree with the comments and complaints posted herein. It is extremely surprising that the company is not bothered to keep its goodwill up to the mark and is not ready to lend ears to the complaints of so many dis-satisfied consumers.
I too bought a godrej fridge 3 years back and my harrasment started from the day one... the product was not working properly with the peoblem of its compressor getting malfunctioned every now & then.. the company chaged the compressor but to no use... then i made the complaint to the dealer and after a lot of persuation.. the fridge was being changed.. but to our turmoil, the product again kept us cribbing and finally it got non-functional after an year and i had no other option to buy another fridge from LG.. In spite of our numerous complaints, the fridge lies in the same state since then.. there had been visits from the service department but nobody is bothered to solve the problem since it again needs the compressor to be changed with few more parts.. and i feel that it is the tactic of the company to defer the repair to kill time so as the warranty period gets over and there remains to be no liability for the company. The last i made the complaint was to the regional service head of Haryana Mr. Jai Kumar who promised to solve the issue but again the same thing happened that the technician came for a visit and didn't returned afterwards since last week.

I have Godrej Refrigerator (Model: SF21, 200 lt.).
Perchase date or bill date 10.01.2006

There was cooling problem in my fridge. The first complaint which I made to Godrej Service Centre was in the month of May 2006. Since then I am struggling to resolve this problem. Following are the details of the work carried by the Godrej technicians so far.

1. In first visit of technicians from Godrej they told that the condenser is leaking so they have to replace the condenser. Here it is important to note that they did not do any testing to check whether the condenser is really leaking. While asking how they are sure that the condenser is leaking, they said that it is their experience. They replaced the condenser.

2. Again cooling problem observed on the next day. This time Godrej Technicians told that the compressor was not working and they changed the compressor and they asked money Rs 1050 I paid against the bill dated 26.05.2008.

3. Again after 5 months the same problem occurred they said that the filter of my fridge got chocked and they replaced the filter and filled the gas. And I paid him Rs 850 against the bill dated 17.10.2008.

4. Again after (complaint no 725870) 7 months the same problem occurred. This time the Godrej technicians told that timer is not working properly. He opend the timer and closed it and told me i repaired the timer now your refrigerator will work. A asked Rs 350 for it. But I refused to pay it that amount. (date 26.05.2009 time 02.30pm)

5. Now after 2 hours The same problem occrred.

I am struggling since last 18 month to repair the fridge. If manufacturing company’s service centre can not rectify the problem than I don’t know who else will be able to rectify it.

Now my passions is going loose. I have expend lots of money now I am not going to pat even 1 (one rupee) from my side. I tired.

So please solve the problem or replace the refrigerator, oher wise I have to go consumerforam and registered the complaint against Dealer and Godrej Company.

I have purchased a godrej pentacool fridge cabinet no.00001492 on date[protected]. After few days i started having problem with this fridge.I complained to customer care on 5 may. Technician visited to my house and after doing some work assured me that this is okay now but again it started problem to me again i complained on 21-05-09. Til 26-05-09 i was be-fooled by saying the technician is coming to you today tomorrow and so on on. On 26-05-09 after repeated requests to inform to me that the insulator device of the fridge is not working properly and the same device is not available in service center and after that only they will be able to correct the problem.In 6 days there was no effort to make available the device. kindly suggest me how i should proceed to get it changed from godrej only or i should visit to the consumer court

i m from jalaun we(Ram ji gupta) have bought a freeze (godrej eon) from orai bundelkhand, its compressor was not working but they didnt hear our problem and they sent person after 1 month and its compressor is still not working cooling is not proper we are facing lot of problem so pls solve our problem

I bought a cooler on 22 April 09 with 1 year guaranty from bineet enterprises(new Delhi).The fan of the cooler did break before the one month over with the cooler and the owner refused to replace it.and now the pump is also working.all this has happed within a months time.I request you to take neccesary action against the owner.the address is mentioned below.

Godrej / Direct Cool Refrigirator — D Freeze Problem

Godrej Direct Cool Fridge Purchased in Aug.2008 from Dombivli.

The above model D Fridge portion is earthing and getting shock when fridge is on.The problem is very serious we are unable to use the D fridge.

Hi Dear All,

It is pathetic. I am also one of the victims of 'The Godrej Care' services. There is no point in just expressing our displeasure in blogs / forums like this. We should become one and bring these useless buggers (beggers are better with some ethics and gratitude) to court. I have a strong feeling that Godrej has entered the seconds market to compete with the other brands on the pricing. Otherwise there can not be so may issues croping up like this. Let us teach them a lesson. We are forced to form a 'Unhappy Customers of Godrej' forum and blast the company left right and centre. Let us do this. Still if they dont understand and realise...better not to waste our time. Let us write off the money spent and decide not to talk about Godrej any more in our life. Nothing more can be done. Anything more than this is an insult to ourselves.

I have purchased a godrej refregerator and i am really feeling sorry of it. Since purchase i am facing problems and many times techinecians have changed many parts but in vain. Now on 05.06.2009 i am facing problem of cooling. i have launched official complain no. 772898, 773762, 774365, 774365, 775385 and alternate days but till now the complaint has not been attended.

I suggest all the readers not to purchase any type of godrej good. There sale and service all is poor.
Hello, , , , all guys having Godrej cooling issue...once ur fridge is fixed by the tech guys from Godrej(persume they do it) get an automatic voltage stabilizer from Godrej for aprox Rs. 1700 (Model G 500VDS - VOLTS)...it keeps a constant voltage of 220 and has 5 sec delay start once there is a power failure...most of the cooling issues in the fridge is due to voltage fluctuation, due to sudden surge of voltage of more than 240 volts the sensor, compressor, etc etc goes FUT.

So just spend 1700 and get a GODREJ stabilizer...all the best (i too had the some similar issues as mentioned above by many...some 4 - 5 times...got resolved after the fridge was fixed and the automatic stabilizer installed)
