HDFC Bank Bank - Auto Loans — Wrong Charges Imposed by HDFC Bank

Address:Thane, Maharashtra

I was holding a loan account with HDFC bank with the loan account number as 13792986 from September 2008. I was always paying my EMIs on time through my ECS configured with my salaried account in Axis Bank. Roughly around December 2009, I changed my job and I had given a call in the helpline number asking what the procedure for transfering is the ECS to a new account. At that point of time, I was said that I have to go to Retail Loan Centre and after doing a hell lot of paper work, my ECS will be shifted. When I asked them if there is any other alternative for the same. Now hear this...

I was clearly said that I can physically deposit my EMI in the loan account number and there would NO CHARGES OR BOUNCED CHARGES OR WAIVERS WILL GET APPLICABLE FOR MY ACCOUNT.

I started physically depositing the EMI on the loan account number before the due and HDFC bank has been fraudulently applying a fine of Rs. 450 on my account for the next 8 months. After a period of 6-7 months, I get a call from some collection agency asking me to pay the fine. When I asked them how, I was informed that I was been charged for ECS which was never closed in my previous salaried Axis Bank. HDFC Bank shamelessly kept asking for the money. When I justified my stand stating that it was the fault of their customer care representative to give me such wrong information, they said me that they will call after the end of the tenure and also promised to me that there would be waiver of all the false charges applied onto my account.

Today December 2011, when I finished my tenure of the loan around 4 montsh back, I haven't received any "No Objection Certificate" till date and neither did I receive any calls from HDFC all this while. When I contacted the helpline, they asked me to send an application for the Waiver of Bounced charges. I had rightfully done that and after a week some girl from their Chembur address started acting hyper telling me that I have to pay the charges and there would be no waiver. When I said it would be unjustified on the part of the bank to fine me for the negligience of the bank she started defending herself with some rude and arrogant rebuttals.

IF AN EXECUTIVE FROM THE HELPLINE OF A BANK GIVES ME WRONG INFORMATION STATING "NO CHARGES WOULD BE APPLICABLE" IF I PHYSICALLY DEPOSIT THE EMI BEFORE THE DUE DATE.

This is an example of sheer negligence where the bank is shamelessly asking to pay the fine to a consumer just because some stupid customer care executive didn't have enough brains to give me proper information. This is the condition of the bank. First they will give you wrong information, then they wouldn't be kind enough to rectify their mistakes too and then shamelessly ask consumer to pay the fine for the mistakes of their foolish customer care representative.

I WOULD REQUEST ONE AND EVERY ONE TO NOT TAKE ANY KIND OF LOAN FROM HDFC BANK. They seem to be the biggest cheaters in this world. They will loot innocent people with their pressure techniques.
