[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Credit card-settlement

HI

I had been a HDFC Platinum card No: [protected].Due to unforeseen circumstances I had been unable to pay the out standings.ON 23rd October 2008 I have done a settlement( Ref: 0326511) with the bank where I had to pay off 61,500 in 8 installments.HDFC Receipt no: (3978515/3978516)

Later on an agent came and said that one installment has been missed and I need to give another cheque of Rs 3330 and this will complete my settelement. ( This was an additon to Rs 61,500).My last installment has been paid in June 2009 and after that for six months I am getting “HARRASSED BY HDFC.”
I keep getting calls that I have not paid my due then some one tell me that Rs 10 is short and after I pay that I am told there is still some amount pending. After that I received a Legal notice from the bank for non payment and then on 18th Nov 2008 - I finally walked up to the Kanjurmarg bank and spoke to Mahesh & Ms Thumba and they said they will call me back.

On 19th Nov Ms Kaynat sheikh; HDFC Kanjurmarg:Collection Manager; phone no: [protected] told me to pay Rs 2500 and that will settle the matter. I paid the amount on 19th Nov itself.

I AM STILL GETTING CALLS AND I AM FED UP.I have never seen such a unprofessional behavior from a a bank.

Mr Mahesh from Kanjurmarg bank is calling me again and again and I don't know how many more people are calling me and asking me to do a re-settlement.

WHY SHOULD I DO A RE-SETTLMENT WHEN I HAVE PAID AND THE BANK SCREWED UP.

Please help me to have this cleared as the back has messed up and they are blaming me and asking for another 71 thousand.

The bank has ackowledged my email and are and telling me "We observe from our records that, the Bank had earlier offered a settlement of Rs. 61,500.00 in eight installments during October'08. However, we were not in receipt of payment according to settlement offered and hence the same was considered null and void. We further wish to clarify that settlement offers are time bound and are decided based on the prevalent outstanding dues on the card account. Hence it becomes essential to avail/comply to the terms of the settlement offer by effecting a payment towards the agreed amount within the stipulated period, in the absence of which the same would be considered void.

We take this opportunity to apprise you that the Bank offers settlement at its discretion based on the prevalent outstanding dues on the card account. "

The bank is clealry cheating me and I want justice.

Regards,
Ranjan Khanna
