[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Invalid Cheque

Address:Tamil Nadu

I have posted a cheque in which payee is my name. There in cheque my account no also specified.

The issue is: My name Thilagamani. But in the cheque my name is written as "Thilaga". So it got rejected.

I don't understand why it was rejected. You could have rejected if the name is fully wrong / does not match with the account no.

Anyway in the account my name is specified right? then what is the problem. I have written my contact no as well. The person should have contacted me before rejecting. isn't it?

I am really not satisfied with this HDFC service. I am holding the HDFC account for the past 4 years.

This does not seem that it is upto the standard.

Regards,
Thilaga

Dear Thilaga,

We understand your concern. However cheque with short / incomplete name will be returned by the clearing department with the reason - "Short Name".

The name on the cheque should exactly match with the name in your account details. To avoid any further cheque return due to name mismatch, kindly advise the issuer to issue cheques with your complete name.

Dear Sir,

My name is P. Gopisankar, I have deposited the cheque on 01/06/2013 in the barnch of Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. The cheque status in my net banking shows as Cheque Invalid. what does it mean? A/c no: [protected],
I have posted a cheque in which payee is my name. There in cheque my account no also specified.

However, the cheque status in net banking is shown as "cheque invalid" and the amount is already cleared from the cheque issuer account. But it is not credited to my account even after two days.

I am really not satisfied with this HDFC service. I am holding the HDFC account for the past 4 years.

This does not seem that it is up to the standard.
