[Resolved]  Hindustan Petrol — Petrol Theft - HP Pump - Hinjewadi

Hi,

I went to refill petrol to my car for 1000 Rs in HP Petrol Pump (i think, the name is "Samrat petrol station"), Hinjewadi, opposite to Courtyard Marriot Hotel in Pune today on 08 Jul 2010.The petrol pump service man was distracting me and the other man who was filling the petrol, didn't ask me to check for the meter reset. The person who was trying to distract me was askign questions like:

1. Sir, why are you filling petrol of 1000 Rs. Instead, make it 1083
2. Sir, why do you not want receipt. Does your company not pay for the petrol charges etc.

Since I had a similar bad experience a 6 mnths. back, I made sure I ignore above questions and I was constantly looking at the meter. I realised that, the other guy started putting up the petrol starting from Rs. 313. I was stunned. I told the guy (who was distracting me) to stop the filling of petrol immediately and get the meter reset to 0 first. He then casually told other guy to start it from 0. This is the second time I have observed this behaviour from the same guy. I had faced similar issue 6 mnths. back, when he put the petrol of 700 Rs. instead of 1000, since i could see the meter at 300 immediately after he started putting the petrol.

This kind of cheating happed many times in the same petrol station. My colleagues in Infosys have mentioned similar issues with the same pump in various forums.

Immediate and needful action against such fraudulent employees will be helpfull for the people like me.

I am also finding the right contacts within HP so it can be escalated there as well.
