I, Vikram Das, have a Compaq (hp) laptop C755TU. It was bought on 3/3/2008. S/No- CND8071MBV.
Due to normal wear and tear, the LCD cable has become faulty.
I submitted it to the HP service center in Kolkata, Redington (India) limited on 7/8/2012..
Today on 10/8/2012., I have been informed from the service center, that the LCD cable is no more available, so, they are recommending to change the LCD screen, even when the screen is completely fine.
The total service charge along with the LCD screen amount to Rs. 14,492., which should have been much lower if they just replace the faulty cable.
So its my earnest request , to take actions so that , the cable ONLY can be replaced, and make them stop harassing customers by producing extra bills.

This is really frustration and it appears the matter has reached it's permanent abominable stage .
We see to be going in circle and now the unpleasantness is that you've stopped responding to our emails.
Let me assure you the ignorance will not be a solution. I invite you or your engineer to our office. You bet you'd end up burning you left had/wrist - it heats up so much !
How could you determine right sitting in Bangalore that the heat dissipated is also normal as per the product design ?
Did you actually take the feedback from the engineer who visited our office ? Did you thought of calling me back to get the right inputs ?
I don't understand why are you doing this to us ?

I would like to inform you that the heat logs and the test results were shared with our concerned technical team.
According to the input from them the unit is working as per the specifications and also the heat dissipated is also normal as per the product design.
With the above inputs regret to inform you that the unit replacement cannot be honored in this case.
As far as the warranty of the notebook is concerned request you to get in touch with the reseller as the same cannot be updated on our systems as the reseller is not an authorized direct reseller of HP.
