[Resolved]  Hp / Laptop — bad service & cheating

I am the unhappy customer since I bought my laptop from HP.
Recently I went with a problem to

Problem was that my system was getting restarted abruptly with a blue screen saying “physical dump memory” . I tried reinstalling windows vista through my recovery disk but it failed while formatting the drive continuously and I was not able to install my operating system.
When I went at the service centre at Okhla they told me that your system is out of warranty and asked me 1400 Rs for installing operating system and I agreed on that.
Just after two days I got a call from them that my RAM & DVD Drive is not working and I have to pay Rs 14000 to get my laptop repaired. When I went there with my laptop DVD Drive was working.
Due to shortage of money I asked my laptop back.
In response these people made me wait for 1 hr and 30 minutes, moreover they charged me 300 bucks and returned my laptop with some more defects, like my screen is not fitted well and some of keyboard keys are not working. I realized the defects when I came back to my home because I couldn’t check it in the service centre as I was getting late for my office. But the question is that when the problem was with the RAM and DVD then why they have tampered with the screen.
I tried to call them but nobody is picking up the call even.
It is disappointing and ridiculous on their part as they are harassing people.
Could you please get my additional defects repaired because those persons are running service centre for earning profit only.

HP Laptop 2210b — Bad ServiceResponse

Dear SirMadam,
We have raised the Purchase order on 16 th April 2008 with regards to the purchaseof two HP Laptop 2210b, via Precision Infomatic (M) PVT LTD(No-22, 1st Floor, Habibullah Road, T Nagar, Chennai) to your HP dealer, Chennai and HP accepted to deliver the same within 1 to 2 weeks.We waited for 2 weeks, but even though its not delivered in the time promised, again HP asked for additional 2 weeks time to deliver the material, now we are nearing a month since we have ordered, but the laptop has not been delivered to our Trichy office. The worst thing is that even the HP authorities are not attending the phone call which we are making for the past 4 days, and there is information from your the HP dealer side also. Our contact point is Mr. GowriShankar (gowrishankar.[protected]@hp.com) and the purchase order number raised is PO/Precision/2008-08/24. Please attend this issues at earliest and take strict actions aganist the one above who is spoiling the reputation of your prestigeous company by making the customers like me unsatisfied. Please get back to me soon on this and release the shipment at earliest and if HP dont want to proceed with our order, please intimate to us so that I can drop this and approach other brands like DELL or IBM. Please advice.

I sudeep bhandari this side wud like to bring to ur notice
about the problems i have faced at the customer care center okhla
and the workshop behind chandiwala institute of HP. The list of problems faced by me goes like

1. no feedback of my machine either through phone or sms even from HP's side.
2. no picking up of calls wen i being customer call them.
As it becums ur Duty to inform me and not my duty wen once the laptop is given to the service center to keep me informed about my machine.
3. no proper coordination between the people of workshop and the service center
4. delay in giving my product back to me so i keep loosing my warranty and no extension automatically even if the laptop
hasbeen with the HP workshop as there is no part avalability or any sort o[censored]ndue delay which is highly not exceptable.
5. mishandeling of my laptop and all the screen and the my borders of the screen are scratched and wen quetioned
they are unanswerable.
6. usage of harsh and language wich is not at all tolerrable and is giving a bad name to HP not the customer
7. 5 times motherboard replacement has been made in an years time.
no extended warranty given to me for my machine.


I know we being your customer is the weakest as we have no option left or any higher authority to look after this matter seriously
and take a great step in making the system of adminstration. I dont even know as i dont have any surety or gurantee
that this mail would even be taken in consideration or not but still the loss which has been caused on part of HP is highly shamefull
and needs to be talked over.
So this is a letter of my feedback to u about
1. the undue delay on your part
2. damages and mishandeling to machine on your part
3. loss of my machines warranty as since the time i got this laptop its full of errors not from my side
and then wen sent for repair the machines are not even despatched even if the are lying with HP
4. and lastly to teach the HP administrators atticates i mean professional ethis in dealing with their customers

HIGHLY UNSATISFACTORY services and i m definatoly sending u a legal notice in regard of defamation, undue delay
and misbehaviour on HPs Part.

Dear Support,

I would like to share my “HP experience” – my intention is not to highlight how poorly managed is HP – allegedly one of the world’s best companies, but to highlight how such “world’s best companies” are callous about customer service in India. I am doing this through your forum as I believe that it will make the necessary impact and send costly signals to companies like HP to improve their performance.

I hope that this is not an imposition on you and that you appreciate my objective and efforts.

I have an HP laptop and is not functioning since 24th October 2008. Here’s what happened – on 24th October the hard disk developed some faults and the computer failed to perform. We reported the exact problem both to our vendor and HP, with a request to get the required spare parts and repair the computer. However, the service engineer came to (simply) confirm the problem and ‘made a promise’ to get back with a solution. This was done on 3rd November 2008. Since then, I have been waiting to get my computer repaired – it has been about four weeks and all we have is amusing (and very frustrating!) excuses – for example ‘Sir the part is not available in Mumbai, we will procure from Bengaluru, please give us 3 days’ thereafter, ‘Sir the part is not available in Bengaluru, we will procure from elsewhere, please give us another 3 days’ and thereafter, ‘Sir the part is not available in India, we will procure from elsewhere, please bear with us’ and finally, ‘Sir the part is not available anywhere on the earth, however, we are hopeful to solve your problem by the end of this month’ and to top it all ‘Sir you are not the only one facing a problem, we have similar problems for the past 3 months, we are hopeful to find a solution’

I am appalled to see how well trained the HP staff is to bide time and hold customers at bay. Btw, this spare part is available on e-bay – therefore, is it not fair to expect HP to provide better service than what have? While HP makes promises of prompt service, the reality as you may have appreciated is quite different. You will agree that, all of this means that I (the customer) suffer and regret buying an HP laptop, while, life just goes on as usual at HP. At best, the HP team will continue to ‘do their job’ and at worst, HP is likely to see customers like me walking away in the future. Is this a costly enough signal for HP? I don’t know. However, if your forum highlights this grievance and helps to push HP deliver better service, I think we all will have done our little bit to improve state of affairs.

HP Laptop — bad service

Hi,

I have given my Laptop to HP Services Centre on 10/11/08 for some product servicing.your service centre people assured to return my Laptop within a weeks time after completing all the neccessary changes and repair in it but Its been almost two month and I am still awaiting to get my laptop back. I have called up to your service desk 8-10 times and use to hear the same excuse that there is some shipment delay. I am suffering loss without my laptop as I dont have another PC / System to use and I dont have any faith left in HP with your poor service quality. Also your service centre supervisor is not cooperative over phone. Trust me I'll not suggest any body in my friends and family to buy any HP product now on. I think I have written a lot and you can understand how much problem I am facing. I am hurt.

Please do the needful so that I can get my Laptop back with all the repair done.

HP — Repair of Laptop

I faced a suddenly shutdown in my laptop ( Compaq v3239 TU) and then on while putting my laptop on charge i was getting a burning smell.
I have given it for repair at Vintech Electronic System Pvt. Ltd, Pune on 12th January.
They have charged Rs 500 for detection of fault, but then these is no response after that. I am told that i would recieve a mail abt the repair cost but its been 5 days and i haven't received any update..
Kindly ensure that the details of repair are conveyed in the next few hours, a lot of my important work is being disturbed because of this.
i was purches laptop on 14th feb 2008 and i was complin for battariy problm on 28th january,

they says that your bill is face and you will not get battery you have to purches battery

but my laptop under warenty

so plz help me i want to repls my battery b'coz its under warenty

Hi Rahul and Pankaj, i bought Compaq Presario V3424AU in June 2007. From the very day warranty expired it started giving a series of problems and, on 19-03-09, it completely become dead. when taken to Hp's authorised service centre in Kolkata, they told me that motherboard of my laptop is completely dead and needs to be replaced and that i would have to spend a minimum of Rs. 10000. they also told me that it would take them atleast 15 days to do the job and even then there is no guarenttee that they wouuld be able to return me back within 15 days or not !

if you have gone through May, 09 issue of DIGIT, then you must have already known the kind of products HP is selling in the Indian market.
I am a victim of DV2601TX. I cannot rely on anything on my laptop. It just blacks out, display disfurges, and never boots up at the first time.
I paid 13500 towards motherboard change, but still the same thing is observed. I dont know whether House of Laptops is taking me for a ride, or the DV series as expalined is really [censored]ed up.
My laptop is with me for 10 days a month and the rest of the time in Hp Care Centre.
Recently I had to extend my warranty for another 2 yrs because of this troubles.

A sincere advice to all laptop buyers, please consider DELL or Lenovo before thinking of Hp.

I really agree with the complaints listed above.I am a unhappy customer of HP lap tops.I bought one of the Hp Pavillion dv5000 from Oman.Once i came back from Oman my laptop started having problem like all sorts now ended like keeping as paper weight.My father also bought one Compaq nc6000 came from same company, surprisingly the thing also got the problem of restarting and now its not functional.The other interesting fact is that we have to claim the AMC from the nation of purchase...so funny for that i think i have to be an Omani sitizen.There is no proper reply from the so...called authorised suppliers...I think...international brand with nationalized support teammmm...I got only one think to say to all...NEVER EVER GO FOR PURCHASE OF HP LAPTOPS...IT WILL MAKE YOU END UP IN TROUBLE AND LOSS OF MONEY.

HP Pavillion Notebook-Extended Warranty — Defective Product Denial to Repair

I own a HP Pavilion Notebook DV9704TX, It was bought in last year Jul08 and is presently under extended care pack. A few days back I noticed that Hinge of its Lid-On the side where locking mechanism is fitted has got broken and decollated from inside. There was no rough use or any other physical damage to the notebook. On reporting to service centre on 03 Nov 09 they took in my notebook for inspection and told me come after two days for further info. On my revisit to the service centre to my surprise I was informed that since it’s a Physical Damage it’s not covered under warranty, On further query I was told that, "we have no such obligation to convince the customer". Thereafter I contacted the toll free-Costumer Care today and was told that they are having a review on the case and will be informed as soon as possible. During my conversation with Costumer Care executive I was informed that on rechecking he Engr from service centre has reported that there are number of physical damages and even there are some screws missing, though I have those four have screws with me and an original Service Call Report that clearly says that Hinge Broken from Inside. With above as my submission I would like to lodge a complaint for this problem being faced by me. Notebook Serial No CNF80409CS.

I tried to explain them that it is purely due to some inherent defect and since there is not even a scrach anywhere, and the part which is cracked is not acessed by the user, but to no avail as they come back with only one answer that it is physical damage, i feel helpless as cannot understand to whom to address the complaint as I am sure that what I am asking is not a part of exclusions in the terms and conditions of the Extended Service Plan that I am holding.

HP Laptop — worst service and cheating

Sir, i am sorry to say that your company service is not bad but it is the worst i have ever seen.i have been running since few months to the service centre in agra branch for certain problem in my laptop but they had simply kept my lappy with them n not returning back.i m getting so much of loss in my studies n wastage of time n money.pls take some strict action against them or else i will complaint in higher authorities........
