RENEWAL SUBSCIRATION

Dear All,
When i was first offered HSBC credit card 4476929996111800,it was given to me free of charge ,but now suddenly i receive the statement with renewal charges ( membership fee )of rs 700 + service tax of rs 70+ed cess of rs 5,when i called them up and told them that i was given the card it was free with no renewal charges @ suddenly after almost 5 years they have started charging ?????????????????
