[Resolved]  Hyundai i10 — problem with EPS

Sir,
I own a i10- ERA model. my car is 10 months old. 3 months back when we are travelling to kodaikanal, suddenly my steering got jammed and its very tough to steer it and i had a very tough time to bring my vehicle to halt at the side of the road. when i contacted my dealer he said this problem is found in some of these models and he told that company will provide you a free replacement.
now even though after the replacement with new steering set, this problem still occurs. when traveling in cities like chennai if the problem comes its really very tough to bring the car to a halt.

I purchased i10 car in 2012. now my car got the problem with eps (steering tight). Why the company is using the cheap performed eps for high cost and giving the trouble to the customer?. Company should react seriously and bring the notice to the eps supplier. i request any forum to stop such type of poor quality unit to use in hyundai car and also request to replace the eps for free of cost…

I thought i owned a best car in the market, After EPS module getting fail, i stepped in a wrong direction. The issue is with all i10 cars that's the company's knowed defect.
Why company is not looking into this and why company creating unnecessary problems to Valued customers. Please do need full help on this by replacing this module.

I brought a Hyundai i10 sports car from Krishna Hyundai, Tezpur Assam in 22 November 2013. I facing the EPS problem when I drive my car EPS symball blinking and steering goes hard. It is very difficult to drive. I went to the mentioned dealer and they said to Chang my EPS column. The price of column is Rs. 25000/. I shock then came back to my home. After 3 days I went to United car repairing center, Tezpur, Assam and checked it. But can, t solved my problem. When I came to home seem this problem is solved automatically. But after few days repeat the problem again.

Now, I decided to change the eps column and give the advance to the Krishna Hyundai Dealer, Tezpur, Assam. the dealer said to me We will call after 1 week.

Now, I think this problem basically come in only Hyundai car. I suggestion to the customer those who want to buy new Hyundai Car. please think about the Hyundai car problems.
Even I have an i20, and recently it has started having EPS problem. The service centre FBL hyundai at chennai has given me a estimate of 18k.

I called up the hyundai service centre at [protected]. They apologised and asked me to pay for the entire service and replacement.
I suggest all to never ever buy any Hyundai car. Even I will get it exchanged to Maruti Desire.

EPS PROBLEM
i have a hyundai grand i10 magna 2014 model kappa,
Suddenly 2 days back the steering was hard jammed and the eps sign is continuously onn. This after reading all this i feel is a common problem with all i10 models and the company SHOULD RECALL THIS AND RECTIFY THIS . Or else my trust with hyundai will never come back

I have a Hyundai i20 purchased in November 2011. Till date (August 2016) I have driven only about 9000 km. In 2013 the EPS failed. Since it was in extended warranty, the EPS motor was replaced. Now, a week back, I saw the EPS light on again. After I switched off the engine and started again, the EPS light went off. The car worked normally. But this experience of random behavior of a critical equipment in a car can put my life in jeopardy.
I was told that since I am not using the car, some systems tend to fail. This is hogwash, nonsense and will fail any logic test. I am an engineer by profession, and wonder how a global company like Hyundai employ since incompetent people in their service centers.
I am going to show this to a service center and have it checked. To mention, I will not go to a Hyundai Authorised service center, since most of them loot the car owners without any transparent service policy. The service centers should allow car owners to see their car being serviced and explain the problems and why the parts need replacement.

I own a i10- ERA model 2011 and registered February 2012. My car power steering jammed and its very tough to steer it from the first service itself. Every-time in service, same complain I was to mentioned service engineer, but got reply that it is OK. Now it is showing EPS and I have contacted Hyundai service center and got reply, it is power steering problem.

I come to know my dealer, he said this problem is found in some of these models and he told that company will provide you a free replacement.

I have an i10 magna and one fine day my EPS sign came on and i couldnt steer my car to the left or right. The company service men came with a G scan machine and said they had erased the code but i think they are clueless about what they have to do. Next morning it was fine but again in the afternoon the EPS light came on. It is very dangerous.

Now they are asking me to shell 9000 for a new module when it should be replaced free of cost.

Who do i approach? Am very inconvenienced.

please don't restrict d issue with i10, steering got jammed in verna also.
I am facing the same problem. The EPS light is ON and the steering is very hard to move. My vehicles is I10 ERA 2011 model.

My i10 Sportz too have the same issue which occurred last week. The car is 2012 model (28700 km now).
I am facing the similar problem where the handle of the car starts shaking very hard as soon as either the car steering wheel is turned right or left while the car is at Standstill. Mechanical engineer has told me that EPS system of the car has failed. Hyundai i10 Kappa bought approx 4 to 5 years back. Cost to replace the EPS is approximately Rs 12, 000 (Twelve Thousand) and its so dangerous that EPS failed while the car was being driven in Powai. Had to bring back the car with a great difficulty being the life at risk. Whats with these Korean Cars, bad quality. Maximum troubles with Clutch, Steering, Silencer and I have seen plenty of Hyundai cars now that have this problem.
I wish I could upload the video on this forum to show it to all of you that how bad the steering wheel is shaking while car is at Standstill. Danger to life and can cause serious accident without people knowing.
