[Resolved]  Icici Lombard — FRAUD

Dear Sir,

I recieved a call from ICICI lombard for medical insurance. They explained me the policy and i was interested and finally i agreed to take policy for mysel-NITA KAPOOR and my brother AJIT Kapoor. After 2 days i afain recieved call and ICICI people said that they cannot offer mediclaim policy to my brother as the limit in credit card is less. I told them that i am look ing for a group policy and want policy for both o[censored]s. They said that is not poosible. INstatly on the same pcall i gave them confirmation that i will not be interested in taking policy and hence told them not to go forward with it.

Too my shock when i recieved my credit card ststement premium for my policy was charged.Despite of telling them not to go for the policy they activated my policy. when we called the call centre they told that now policy is active and 30% of he policy fee while deducted on cancel. I made it very clear that when i have not gone for ploicy why should i cancel it.It was made clear either provide policy for both or none. This was made clear still this fraud was done by them.They are saying that now nothing can be done and were very rude on phone. Why should i pay whaen i never gave confirmatiuon.

Now that money is reflection in my credit card statement. Request you to kindly get the policy cancelled get my full amount credited in credit catd statement.Details are as follows-

Today morning i am notified by my car washer that there has been a theft of my deck and that my car window has been broken into.
I rush to the site, call up ICICI and below are the flow of events

1) Call To ICICI to Buy Policy - 01 July 2015, Call time: 05:03 PM
As part of purchase of policy, i had a call with ICICI Lombard. The call was recorded to resolve disputes or queries arriving in the future.
First Lie: I was informed for filing claim - ICICI charges Rs 1000/-. This is a standard charge which is paid to government and is applicable to all insurance companies.
Issue: The government does not require this charges. Bharti AXA does not charge anything for filing claims.

2) Call to ICICI for Intimation 9th July, Call time : 08:13 AM
My car stereo was stolen. My car window has been broken into. I intimate ICICI Lombard.
Second Lie: I was told that ICICI would be putting in 2 claims -
1 for own damage for breaking of window and 1 for theft of my car stereo. For own damage i would have to put pay Rs 1000/-.
OWN DAMAGE for breaking of window which was part of theft.
After screaming and shouting they agreed to put both of the issues together in a single claim of theft for which there is no charges.
Issue: ICICI is looking out to make profits out of cheating

Third Issue: During Filing of complaint i was told to provide a time.
I clearly mentioned that i can give a timeline between 10 PM to 8 AM.
They said we need a single time to put in the document.
How can a person know what time has the theft occured. There are no eye witnesses . Completely illogical. After heated debate and escalation, they agreed to take that into account

I was promised a surveillance in 24 hours.

I had mentioned that i would be doing repairs at a garage of my choice. They told that should not be a problem

3) Call from ICICI : 10:54
To Notify the choice of garage and stating that car has to be at the workshop.
After stating that i had clearly mentioned in the morning that I would do it at a garage of my choice. They finally give in and say ok.
Fourth Lie: Why lie stating that i need to have my car at a workshop of their choice

4) Call To ICICI : 06:38 PM
To confirm time of survey person coming to visit the site. They said please take contact number and contact yourself.
ICICI is the service provider and is responsible to have the contact person allocated and notify the consumer accordingly.
I give in and call the survey contact person at 07:00, the guy said he cannot come and another guy looks at my locality.
The second contact person says, i am not responsible i will provide you with a number. And he says that he expected the car to be at the workshop prior to even evaluating the theft.
I said i would only give it to workshop after the theft claim is properly honored and then claim for reimbursement. i ask him, when can i expect him to survey and he was like maybe tommorrow.


5) Call to ICICI : 07:21 PM
Fed up, i call icici and ask them to ensure that the survey happens in 24 hours asthey promised. they state that i need to contact the survey person.
I inform them that i would be making a complaint to ombudsman if i do not get a reponse back in 5 min. No response.

This is a pathetic case of a consumer taken in for a ride and inconvenience to the core.
Staying in a heritage area of matunga, we do not have parking slots and live in 3 floor building.
We have to park the cars on road, and in a scenario like today, we cannot keep our cars open whole night with rains flooding in and damaging the car further.
The site needs to be examined at the moment, when the issue happened and the claim acceptance of survey shhould have been completed.

After request to the building owners, i have moved in the car to my own building under shed with glass all within the car.
The organization has not stood up to their words of Nibhayein waada but have kept on lying over and over again and giving false promises.

I have not yet filed a claim, moved the car to a workshop still awaiting the survey visit.
We as customers are begging for service, calling up survey agents setup by icici instead of icici making sure to their promises,
We are lied about the claims, stating that the claim money is given to government and is a standard.
We are forced to claim under own damage for a clear incident of theft for their personal gain.
There is a limit to lying and cheating.

All of the calls to ICICI has been recorded by ICICI. Please take the needful action against icici for fraudalent, unlawful activities and charge a heavy penalty for the inconvenience caused to consumers by organizations like ICICI.
